Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. - Ephesians 6:11
Sometimes in life you feel irrational feelings and pressures. This can come to a point when it seems hopeless or the pressures seem so great. In families the children, and parents can all feel under a weight, what can be the cause of this? When we recognize spiritual warfare we recognize that we are not just in a physical world but a spiritual one also. There are hosts of demons who seek to influence and bring hurt to godly families and godly ministers of the gospel. If we call ourselves by the name of Christ we will be a targets for the attacks of the enemy. Many people say to not blame the devil for everything but the same is true that it is foolish to think nothing is of the devil either. This world is greatly under the influence of the hosts of wickedness and as believers we are to stand against these in the Name of the Lord. We should at times recognize if the enemy of our souls is active in the lives of brethren around us finding a foothold in their lives. Or over the family in some way being able to put pressures and suggestions that are not of the Lord. We must never look to flesh and blood but realize that the enemy can get a foothold in our minds in many areas of life and that we should intercede for our loved ones, ourselves or others in the body of Christ to be set free from that influence.
We are encouraged by the Apostle Paul to firstly stand firm and to be strong in the Lord (Ephesians 6:10). We are redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus and he is the victor over our souls. The cross triumphed over all demon forces and Christ is victor! We must stand on the reality of this triumph that was accomplished. Putting on all the armour of God is to think through all that the Lord has done to free us and keep us safe from the attacks of the enemy. Lastly we are encouraged to be in great prayer for ourselves and all saints, "for all the Lord’s people." We are a body of Christ together and to be able to pray even prayers for the entire body of Christ in a city or in the world, are powerful ways to help other fellow believers. We must never grow weary in interceding for others from the finished work of the Cross, we pray from victory. The battle may seem intense but in the end the victory is always ours in Christ Jesus. Amen.
