Summary: The drama queens seem to rule in many situations. We can stand and look out our windows with a defeated temporal vision. The is a better plan...

STANDING AND LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW?

NOW WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

Did you hear about the terrible story: Two men plotted to rob the bank after hours.

They had a torch and cut their way into the safe...

They was so surprised that all that was in the safe was a few jars of olives.

So they ate the olives and escaped.

The next morning on the news they saw: EYE BANK WAS ROBBED LAST NIGHT!

LET ME ASK YOU: WHAT DO YOU SEE?

ON WHAT DO YOU FOCUS?

WE ARE AN EYE SOCIETY

DO WE FOCUS ON THE TEMPORAL OR THE ETERNAL...

WE CAN KNOW THE SHECHINAH OF GOD...

**** SHEKINAH OR SHECHINAH GLORY: THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY GOD OF

ABRAHAM AND ISRAEL...DEEP WORSHIP

We so often focus on the temporal ---

We have polished worship music ---

We may even raise our hands...

Maybe even say AMEN, when the preacher demands it...

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ATTEND CHURCH AND PRAY EVERY DAY AND FOCUS ON THE FLESH

UNTIL WE LOSE SIGHT OF REAL WORSHIP AND PRAISE...

TODAY'S PHILOSPHY IS LET THE EMOTIONS RULE --- DRAMA QUEENS RULE...

IF IT FEELS GOOD DO--- I DO NOT CARE IF IT IS RIGHT OR WRONG ---

IT MAKES ME HAPPY...

1. ELIJAH...

PREACHED DURING ONE OF THE MOST CORRUPT REIGNS IN JEWISH HISTORY...

AHAB AND JEZEBEL M---

JEZEBEL VOWED TO KILL THE PREACHER BEFORE THE MORNING SUN...

2. ELISHA

THERE HAD BEEN A TRAIL OF GREAT MEN THAT KNEW GOD IN A PERSONAL WAY...

ALWAY IS JEWISH TRADITION THE OLDEST SON RECEIVED A DOUBLE PORTION OF

THE BLESSINGS...

2 Kings 2:9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what

I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double

portion of thy spirit be upon me.

3. THE NEXT IN LINE TO FOLLOW THE ANNOINTING WAS A MAN NAMED GEHAZI ---

GEHAZI HAD GREAT POTENTIAL AND HE KNEW A MIGHTY MAN OF GOD... MAYBE MORE

THAN HE KNEW THE MIGHTY GOD...

As Elisha follow the steps of Elijah...

So GEHAZI FOLLOWED ELISHA...

NOW WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?

GEHAZI WAS A MAN THAT FOCUS ON PEOPLE AND THINGS...

HE DESERVED MORE THAN WHAT HE HAD...

GEHAZI'S MOODS WERE DICTATED AND RULED BY HIS EYES AND THE MOODS ---

HIS EMOTIONS RULED HIS SPIRIT....

1. GEHAZI HAS HEARD ALL THE RUMORS FLOATING AROUND ABOUT HOW STRONG THE ENEMY

HAD GROWN.

2. GEHAZI'S EARS AND MOUTH CAUSED THE ENEMY'S POWER TO BE DISTORTED, A GIANT?

3. GEHAZI LOST SLEEP, AS SELF DOUBT CAUSED DOUBTING GOD...

4. GEHAZI'S EMOTIONS AND VISUAL FIELD CAUSED HIM TO LOSE HOPE AND PEACE.

2 Kings 6:14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night,

and compassed the city about. 15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone

forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him,

Alas, my master! how shall we do?

NOW LET US LOOK OUT THE SAME WINDOW...

WITH A DIFFERENT ATTITUDE...

A MAN THAT KNEW GOD ... COULD FOCUS BEYOND THE TROUBLES OF A BIG ENEMY...

2 Kings 6:16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

PRAYER AND FAITH LOOKS OUT THE WINDOW MUCH DIFFERENTLY THAN THE DRAMA

KINGS AND QUEENS...

PRAYER CHANGES THE VISION...

DO WE BELIEVE OUR EYES?

DO WE BELIEVE OUR GOD AND FAITH?

2 Kings 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And

the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses

and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

THIS IS MY CHANGE TO DEFEAT...

GEHAZI'S VISION DECIDES: SHALL WE DEFEAT THE ENEMY

2 Kings 6:18 (KJV) And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite

this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

GEHAZI'S DRAMA QUEEN VISION DECIDES: THIS IS MY OPPORTUNITY TO FIGHT IN THE FLESH...

SPIRITUAL VISION SEES BEYOND TODAY...

2 Kings 6:21 And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them?

shall I smite them? 22 And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou

hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and

drink, and go to their master.

I SAW OUT MY WINDOW...

I PRAYED... HOW STUPID IS IT TO FEED THE ENEMY?
