Summary: GOD IS YOUR ULTIMATE STRENGTH AND REFUGE

STRENGTH AND REFUGE

OBSERVATION: THE PSALMIST SPOKE TO THE STRENGTH AND REFUGE HE FOUND BY MEDITATING ON GOD’S WORD.

INTERPRETATION: PSALMS 119:40 (NKJV) BEHOLD, I LONG FOR YOUR PRECEPTS; REVIVE ME IN YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. PSALMS 119:40 (THE BOOK) I LONG TO OBEY YOUR COMMANDMENTS! RENEW MY LIFE WITH YOUR GOODNESS.

POINTS TO PONDER:

THE PSALMIST WANTED GOD’S WORD DEEPLY ROOTED INTO HIS LIFE. HE KNEW THE BENEFITS OF KEEPING GOD’S STATUES. HIS LOYALTY TO GOD’S STATUES KEPT HIM OUT OF HARMS WAY. BELIEVERS MUST EMBRACE THE SAME REALITY.

PSALMS 12:6 (NKJV) THE WORDS OF THE LORD ARE PURE WORDS, LIKE SILVER TRIED IN A FURNACE OF EARTH, PURIFIED SEVEN TIMES.

BIBLICAL TYPOLOGY DEFINES THE NUMBER SEVEN AS COMPLETION. GOD DEMANDS THE VALUE OF HIS WORD SINCE IT IS A LAMP UNTO YOUR FEET AND A LIGHT UNTO YOUR PATH (PSALM 119: 105). HIS WORD IS TRUSTWORTHY!

PSALMS 18:30 (NKJV) AS FOR GOD, HIS WAY IS PERFECT; THE WORD OF THE LORD IS PROVEN; HE IS A SHIELD TO ALL WHO TRUST IN HIM.

KING DAVID WOULD ATTEST TO GOD’S PROVEN WORD. SOME OF HIS PERSONAL EXPERIENCES ATTESTED TO THAT REALITY. GOD SPOKE AND PROMISED HIM HE WOULD BE THE NEXT KING OF ISRAEL: THAT REALITY TRANSPIRED!

APPLICATION: GOD IS YOUR STRENGTH AND REFUGE. YIELD YOUR ADVERSE CIRCUMSTANCES TO HIM!
