Summary: Charles Barkley many years ago, came out and said, "I am not a role model." The truer statement is I am not a good role model or a bad role model, but we are all role models. The same is with teaching. We are all teachers. Some are good and some not so good.

This morning I would like to continue along the lines of what a Christian is and does. I know we are salt and light, and we do this as we are Christlike. But let's consider one other thought today, that Christians are teachers. I know some of you already tuned me out. You say, “Preacher I'm not a teacher. I cannot teach. I don't want to teach.” I ask you to please consider what God has to say about all of us being teachers.

I know there are several different meanings for the word teach:

1. to become pupil, to disciple. Matthew 28: 19

2. to learn, to teach. Luke 11: 1, Acts 1: 1

3. to sound down, to indoctrinate. 1 Corinthians 14: 19

4. to instruct differently. 1 Timothy 1: 3

5. No doubt there are many more meanings for the word teach, so in what area do we apply teaching and the word of God.

c. Everything done today should build the church. It should not take away from it.

2. Our problem is we are vilifying our words with our life. Romans 2: 21, 1 Timothy 4: 12

3. The bible teaches that the older are to teach the younger. Titus 2: 1-7

a. It's a sin the way America treats our elderly.
