VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Through hypocritical liars

"Through the hypocrisy and pretensions of liars"

Hypocrisy - condemnation, dissimulation. Hypocrisy means simulation; a feigning to be what one is not; or dissimulation, a concealment of one's real character or motives. More generally, hypocrisy is simulation, or the assuming of a false appearance of virtue or religion; a deceitful show of a good character, in morals or religion; a counterfeiting of religion.

Proverbs 23:6-7 (Amplified Bible)

Eat not the bread of him who has a hard, grudging, and envious eye, neither desire his dainty foods;

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you, eat and drink, yet his heart is not with you [but is grudging the cost].

Proverbs 27:24-26 (Amplified Bible)

For riches are not forever; does a crown endure to all generations?

When the hay is gone, the tender grass shows itself, and herbs of the mountain are gathered in,

The lambs will be for your clothing, and the goats [will furnish you] the price of a field.

John 10:10 (Amplified Bible)

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Lie means a criminal falsehood; a falsehood uttered for the purpose of deception; an intentional violation of truth. Fiction, or a false statement or representation, not intended to deceive, mislead or injure, as in fables, parables and the like, is not a lie.

B. Their consciences seared with a hot iron

"whose consciences are seared (cauterized),"

1 Corinthians 4:4 (Amplified Bible)

I am not conscious of anything against myself, and I feel blameless; but I am not vindicated and acquitted before God on that account. It is the Lord [Himself] Who examines and judges me.

1 Corinthians 8:7-8 (Amplified Bible)

Nevertheless, not all [believers] possess this knowledge. But some, through being all their lives until now accustomed to [thinking of] idols [as real and living], still consider the food [offered to an idol] as that sacrificed to an [actual] god; and their weak consciences become defiled and injured if they eat [it].

Now food [itself] will not cause our acceptance by God nor commend us to Him. Eating [food offered to idols] gives us no advantage; neither do we come short or become any worse if we do not eat [it].

Our consciences are already cleansed by GOD, so there's nothing to condemn us, but these people have evil consciences but they pretend, simulate that their consciences were cleansed without a relationship to the FATHER and the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

1 Timothy 1:5 (Amplified Bible)

Whereas the object and purpose of our instruction and charge is love, which springs from a pure heart and a good (clear) conscience and sincere (unfeigned) faith.

Acts 24:16 (Amplified Bible)

Therefore I always exercise and discipline myself [mortifying my body, deadening my carnal affections, bodily appetites, and worldly desires, endeavoring in all respects] to have a clear (unshaken, blameless) conscience, void of offense toward God and toward men.

Romans 9:1 (Amplified Bible)

I AM speaking the truth in Christ. I am not lying; my conscience [enlightened and prompted] by the Holy Spirit bearing witness with me

Hebrews 10:22 (Amplified Bible)

Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.

GOD already cleansed our guilty conscience through the WORD of GOD, but denying that you still have a guilty conscience that is not cleansed but you pretend that it's clear is therefore hypocritical lying.
