Summary: In a world full of various challenges and troubles, living a joyful life becomes impossible without the help of God. Only Jesus can help us live a life full of joy.

Joy drives out all forms of bitterness that may have existed in your life in times past. It is a light that drives out the darkness of sorrow. Joy is what keeps you smiling everyday of your life, making all your days devoid of sorrow. Everyone desires to live a life full of joy, but it is evident that so many people are still lacking joy in their life. No matter what is happening in the world, I want you to know today that your joy can be full, all you need to do are the following.

1. Have Faith in Jesus: The ultimate solution to every problem a man may face in life is Jesus. Therefore, the very first step to living a joyful life is to be in Christ Jesus, to accept him as our Lord and Saviour and have full believe that he is able to and will change our life for the best. Jesus Christ, the Son of God came to earth in the likeness of men and laid down His life for the redemption of our souls. For it pleased God to lay upon him all our sorrows, so we may have joy, even as it is written in Isaiah 53: “4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Having carried away our sorrows, God in His infinite mercies has hid all our joy with Him that we may freely obtain when we ask from Jesus Christ. Jesus loves us all so much that he died for us, He still loves us that much till today and when we believe in Him with all our heart, he would grant us the desires of our heart and give us full joy.

2 Ask: Mathew 7:7 says “ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” No matter what the challenge maybe, if we pray with faith, whatsoever we ask in the name of Jesus would be granted unto us. We ask things from our earthly parents and they grant us out of love, how much more will Jesus Christ grant us who loved us and died for our sins even while we were yet in sin. Henceforth, seek for your joy from Him. And when you pray, do not have doubts in your mind. Are there not so many that pray everyday in various places of worship and yet their prayers are not answered, is Christ no longer answering prayers? Absolutely not, for He remains the same forever and ever more and answers all those who call upon Him with faith. It should however be noted that when we pray unto Him, we must do so without having doubts in our mind and without depending on other sources for what we want to achieve. Some pray to Jesus and yet they still depend on charms to solve their problems, such a fellow cannot receive anything from Him. He is willing and able to do exceedingly great things for us if we ask from Him with a mind fully dedicated to Him, even as it is written Matthew 17:20

“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. ”

Having these promises, let us with all confidence, lay all our sorrows at the foot of the cross of Jesus, casting our cares upon Him, who is able to do exceedingly great things for us.

3 Obedience is better than sacrifice: Jesus loves the sinners and died for them but he hates sin. Anyone that sins is of the devil but he that obeys is of God. Therefore, when you are deep rooted in sinful acts, you are of the devil and cannot receive anything from Jesus, but he/she that obeys the commandments of Jesus is able to receive great things from Him. Let us abstain from all sinful acts, dedicating our whole life to Jesus Christ. God is merciful to forgive our sins when we truly repent.

The sum of this is that we should depend upon Jesus to give us full joy, praying with full faith and abstaining from sin.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. AMEN.
