Summary: This outline declares that "the arm of the Lord" is none other than our Lord Jesus. Scriptural support is provided for each position taken.

THE ARM OF THE LORD

“Who hath believed our report: and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?” Isaiah 53:1

I. “THE ARM OF THE LORD” IS THE LORD JESUS:

The entire 53rd chapter tells of the life and ministry of our Savior. Before His incarnation, He was One with the Father: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him: and without Him was not anything made that was made.” John 1:1-3

II. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE “ARM OF THE LORD”:

Almighty in power and strength:

“And Jesus spoke unto them saying” All power is given unto Me in heaven and earth.” Matthew 28:18

The embodiment of grace and truth:

“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” John 1:17

The wisdom of God:

“But unto those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” I Corinthians 1:24

III. WHERE “THE ARM OF THE LORD” IS SEEN:

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

As the Creator:

“For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible: all things were created by Him, and for Him.” Colossians 1:16

“Ah Lord God! Behold Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee.” Jeremiah 32:17

As our Redeemer:

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” Titus 2:13-14

As our Provider:

“He shall feed His flock like a Shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those who are with young.” Isaiah 40:11
