The Benefits of God becoming man. (Hebrews 2:5-18)

1. We have access to the grace of God. (V9)

“So that by the grace of God…”

2. We have victory over death (V9)

“He might taste death for everyone”

3. We have adoption into the family of God (V10)

“In bringing many sons to glory…”

4. We have insight into one of the major reasons God allows suffering (V10)

“It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.”

5. We are made holy (V11)

“Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family.”

6.We have a great reason to praise God. (V12)

“I will declare your name to my brothers; in the presence of the congregation I will sing your praises.”

7. We can completely trust God (V13)

“I will put my trust in him”

8. We have a family to belong too. (V13)

“Here am I, and the children God has given me.”

9. We have a merciful and faithful high priest (V17)

“in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God”

10. We have atonement for our sins (V17)

“and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.”

11. We have divine help in our times of temptation. (V18)

“Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are are being tempted.”
