Summary: In 2003, Ohio State won the National football title. They were led by a great coach. We, as Chrisitans are led by the greatest defensive and offensive coach there is.

THE BEST DEFENSE

PROVERBS 3: 1-12

1. My son forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments.

2. For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart.

4. So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord and depart from evil.

8. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

9. Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase.

10. So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

11. My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction.

12. For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the the son in whom he delighteth.

On January 3, 1992, Ohio State University won the national title in Division One football; along the way they didn’t get any respect.

They beat a team the whole country had picked to wipe them out.

They were a 13-point underdog.

The critics said Miami was too talented and too fast for Ohio State, What they forgot was Ohio State had one of the best defenses all year.

The Buckeyes had someone leading them who had done it before, (Coach Jim Tressel) He had won a national titles with Youngstown State University in Double A ball.

He was a coach who had done it before.

In our Christian walk, we have the best offense; the Coach has led the team to victory for ages.

Our Coach has seen every kind of offense there is, He never worries, He has it all under control.

He never worries about the economy or our job situation, He has it under control

God has a great game plan.

ISAIAH 55:8-11

8. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways saith the Lord.

9. For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater.

11. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

I’ve entitled this the best defense

DREAM 1-17-2003

I dreamed I was in a dark building. I was being led by a guy who had a gun. I didn’t have one. In a way, I felt this was some kind of game, but then again, I knew it wasn’t a game. I knew it was a serious matter. The guy I was with kept seeing the enemies, I didn’t. He would shoot them. Not one time did this enemy shoot back The guy I was with was good. The next thing I knew, I saw a dark figure standing in a room, I was pretty far away. The closer we got the more I could see him. I was wondering why he wasn’t firing at us. Then I realized it was because of who I was with. Now the dark figure got shot. He was doubling over. I knew I had won.

INTERPRETATION

The dark figures represent Satan, and his demons.

The man with me represented Jesus.
