Summary: Through His death Jesus finished allthings by His resurrection. Through His resurrection He gave us power over death, hell, and the grave.

I. He Created All Things (1.2c).

-Christ was not created in Bethleham at His birth. John tells us that He was in the beginning with God and in fact that He was God.

a. Jesus Has Always been and will always be.

b. Nothing was created without Him.

-Jesus is not only equal with God, He is God!

II. He is the heir of All Things.

-Psalm 24.1 says "The earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therin."

a. Everything we are and have belongs to Jesus.

b. If we have accepted His death on he cross as our salvation then we become co-heirs with Christ.

-God doesn’t need anything we could ever offer Him, but He desires us to make the choice to offer our lives to Him.

III. He sustains All Things (1.3c).

-Not only did Christ creat all things He has the power to sustain all things that He created. He holds the stars in the heavens and He holds the earth in its orbit. He holds our lives together no matter how much tribulation we may experience.

-Not only did Jesus create all things He also has the power to hold what He has made in order. He suffered as a man in every manner that we could possibly suffer. He has the power to sustain and comfort us through our trials.

Conclusion: Christ began all things as the Creator. He emptied Himself of Royalty when He was born into Humanity. He became a carpenter, walked a sinless life, was sentence to death, and suffered the most horrible death. His only crime was that He was guilty of love. Through His death He finished all things by His resurrection. Through His resurrection He gave us power over death, hell, and the grave.
