Summary: We need the Fire of God back into our life's
The Fire of God
1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian.
And he led the flock to the back of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
2 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush.
So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.
3 Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
4 So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
5 Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”
6 Moreover, He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”
And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.
This is one of those passages that stir and provoke us in our pursuit of God.
It’s one of the many God encounters we find in the Word, where God visits in a unique way
And in a brief moment in time, He changes and transforms the life of Moses forever.
Moses life would never be the same after the encounter with the fire of God
For Moses the day started as an ordinary day.
He’d been in the desert 40 years
40 Years he had spent faithfully tending the flock of Jethro.
I’m sure he was expecting the day to be the same as any other day,
but this day was different…
The ordinary became the extraordinary
The usual became the unusual
His normal way of life was replaced by God
God in a moments time changed His direction in life.
He changed His attitude
He changed His purpose for living
Everything changed the moment God came down like an eternal flame.
His life was changed when he encountered the fire of God
The fire of God took him from a shy backward shepherd who stuttered
To A man full of fire____ who walked up to the biggest powerhouse of the time and said
“Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let My people go
I am telling you It takes a man full of the fire to walk up to the Pharaoh and demand anything.
But Moses was not like any other man of that time
His life was changed when he saw the fire of God
Like a lot of you, I can say my life was changed when I encountered the fire from God
You see when you get the fire of God everything changes in your life
Your plans become His plans
Your walk becomes His walk
Your thought become His thoughts
Once that fire gets ahold of you
You don’t walk the way you use to walk
You don’t talk the way you use to talk
Your whole attitude changes
You use to cuss and swayer
Now your lips are praising His name
You use to lie and steal from folks
Now you're in the alter praying for them
Once the fire of God gets a hold of you something changes
You don’t hang out with the same old friend you use to run with
The fire kills the old man
The fire burns off all the old dead things hang on your life.
The fire of God purifies us.
We need the fire of God.. We need the power of God
Many people in the Country have turned it, Islam
So many people are turning to witchcraft
They have turned to black magic
Why is that?
Because they have found power somewhere else
Because they have not seen the power in the church from the children of God.. ANYMORE
They have not seen the fire of God in the church
When they look at us all they see is cowards……
All they see is us fighting among ourselves
All they see is us fighting over which denomination is right
When they turn on their TV all they see is pastors wanting their money…..
My God help me this morning
They look at Islam and see other people fearing them
And they think that that religion has the power
And they look at the church who is afraid of hurt people feelings so they preach a water down the gospel.
And talk about power
They look at the church who stood by why one woman took pray out of school
They look at churches who let the Community all around them go to Hell in a handbasket.
