THE GOOD SHEPHERD SEEKS HIS SHEEP V. 4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? A. A Compassionate Search - Just one sheep was missing, Shepherd still went B. A Costly Search - John 10:11; I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. C. A Consistent Search - until he find it? II. THE GOOD SHEPHERD SAVES HIS SHEEP V. 5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. A. Here We See The Sheep Rescued - And when he hath found it, B. Here We See The Shepherd Rewarded - 6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. III. THE GOOD SHEPHERD SECURES HIS SHEEP V. 5-6 he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. A. He Secures Them By His Strength - 5 he layeth it on his shoulders Jude 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, B. He Secures Them By His Stamina - 6 And when he cometh home, C. His Neglect Phil 2 v 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. But none of the ransomed ever knew, How deep were the waters crossed;

Nor how dark was the night the Lord passed through, Ere He found His sheep that was lost.

2.The Lord - His Salvation Is My Shepherd David's Certainty - His Was :-

A Personal Relationship He did not say “the LORD is a Shepherd.” He did not say “the LORD is our Shepherd.” He did not say “the LORD is your Shepherd.”He says “the LORD is my Shepherd!”

A Present Relationship “the LORD is my Shepherd!”

A Precious Relationship the LORD is my Shepherd

1. The Tenderness Of The Shepherd 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

2. The Thoughtfulness Of The Shepherd he leadeth me beside the still waters.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

A Profound Relationship 3 He restoreth my soul:

1.The Good Shepherd Provides Love 1John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

2.The Good Shepherd Provides Life Eph. 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

3. The Good Shepherd Provides Leadership he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psa. 37:23. The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. Stubborn Sheep Are Restored With The Rod Straying Sheep Are Restored With The Staff Sick Sheep Are to Be Restored With The Oil

3.I shall not want.- His Sufficiency David rejoiced In :- A. The Shepherd’s Power v. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: 1. He Provides Peace Phil. 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 2. He Provides His Presence for thou art with me; Heb. 13:5; Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. - Abraham ... I Am with thee and will bless thee. Genesis 26:24
