VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. The HOLY SPIRIT adds His testimony

"And also the Holy Spirit adds His testimony to us"

Witness or "martureo" in Greek meaning: to be a witness, to bear witness which has characteristics of the following:

1. to give (not to keep back) testimony

2. to utter honourable testimony, give a good report

3. conjure, implore

Hebrews 2:3-4 (Amplified Bible)

2:3 How shall we escape [appropriate retribution] if we neglect and refuse to pay attention to such a great salvation [as is now offered to us, letting it drift past us forever]? For it was declared at first by the Lord [Himself], and it was confirmed to us and proved to be real and genuine by those who personally heard [Him speak].

2:4 [Besides this evidence] it was also established and plainly endorsed by God, Who showed His approval of it by signs and wonders and various miraculous manifestations of [His] power and by imparting the gifts of the Holy Spirit [to the believers] according to His own will.

Hebrews 3:7-8 (Amplified Bible)

3:7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice,

3:8 Do not harden your hearts, as [happened] in the rebellion [of Israel] and their provocation and embitterment [of Me] in the day of testing in the wilderness,

1 Peter 1:11-12 (Amplified Bible)

1:11 They sought [to find out] to whom or when this was to come which the Spirit of Christ working within them was indicating when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that should follow [them].

1:12 It was then disclosed to them that the services they were rendering were not meant for themselves and their period of time, but for you. [It is these very] things which have now already been made known plainly to you by those who preached the good news (the Gospel) to you by the [same] Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Into these things [the very] angels long to look!

It's the time of the HOLY SPIRIT now a dispensation where His move and His voice testified of the finished work of the LORD JESUS, don't ignore or neglect Him.

B. The HOLY SPIRIT said before to confirm this

"[in confirmation of this]. For having said,"

2 Peter 1:21 (Amplified Bible)

1:21 For no prophecy ever originated because some man willed it [to do so—it never came by human impulse], but men spoke from God who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.

John 15:26 (Amplified Bible)

15:26 But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me.

There are churches or ministries that wanted the HOLY SPIRIT but they don't want the 'witness' or sign of the HOLY SPIRIT, not to mention His Gifts mentioned in First Corinthians Chapter 12. I know of a church that ex-communicates you when you laugh in the Spirit, and I know of a church that when you raise your hand to praise and worship GOD, an usher will come near you, asking what you want.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Thank You LORD HOLY SPIRIT because You stand as a witness of my salvation by Your voice, moves, signs and gifts and You confirmed the finished work of the LORD JESUS CHRIST on the cross for my sake.
