The Influence Of A Godly Mother

Summary: Paul extols the virtue of a godly mother and how she is to influence her children for the glory of Christ.
“THE INFLUENCE OF A GODLY MOTHER”
1. Eunice’s faith was a PURE faith. (v. 5a) When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee Psalm 17:1; John 1:47; 2 Corinthians 6:6; Galatians 5:6; 1 Timothy 1:5; 1 Peter 1:22; Ezekiel 33:31; Romans 12:9; 1 John 3:18; Acts 15:9; James 4:8
2. Eunice PASSED on a legacy of faith to young Timothy. (v. 5b) which first dwelt in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice Psalm 22:10; 86:16; 116:16; Acts 16:1-2; Genesis 18:19; Deuteronomy 29:29; Proverbs 31:1
3. Eunice’s faith now PREVAILED in young Timothy. (v. 5c) and I am persuaded than in thee also Romans 4:21; 2 Timothy 1:12; 3:15; Hebrews 11:13; Proverbs 1:8; Ephesians 1:15; 6:4; 1 Timothy 5:20; Titus 2:2; 2 Peter 1:1; Jude 1:20
4. Eunice’s faith was a PERSEVERING faith which Timothy was exhorted to follow. (v. 6) Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands 1 Timothy 4:6, 12, 14; 2 Timothy 2:14; 1 Peter 4:10-11; 2 Peter 1:12; 3:1; Jude 1:5
