Summary: In this message, we invade yourspace. PAY ATTENTION! You may be surprised at what you find out.

The huge craze right now is “myspace”

MySpace is a social networking website based in West Hollywood, California offering an interactive, user-submitted network of blogs, profiles, groups, photos, MP3s, videos and an internal e-mail system.

According to Alexa Internet, as of August 2006, it is the world’s fourth most popular English-language website and the seventh most popular in any language[1]. It is the most popular site in the United States, accounting for 4.5% of all website visits[2] MySpace currently reports just over 100 million members, with the 100,000,000th member signing up on August 9, 2006. The website also attracts 500,000 new members each week.

(What is myspace?)

Everybody say “PAY ATTENTION”

Where do you hear this phrase the most?

In school from teachers who are nagging you. PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS. Your parents. PAY ATTENTION SON. Your pastors. PAY ATTENTION in church.

You’re so broke you can’t even afford to pay attention.

What does pay attention mean?

To listen to or concentrate on it closely.

To take care or heed of it.

What are some things that you pay attention to everyday?

myspace, computer, internet, games, TV, school, cell phones, friends, etc.

Hear me out, none of those are bad, but tonight, we’re going to invade yourspace. We’re going to find out what is there.

Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God (pay attention to God). You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.

1. PAY ATTENTION: God is constant

Check this out: God doesn’t change

Hebrews 13:8

”He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He’s totally himself all the time”

2. PAY ATTENTION: God can change you – forever.

Check this out: God doesn’t change, but He can change you.

As we invade yourspace, here’s what we may find:

-some broken relationships

-some hurt people

-some anger & bitterness

-boredom

-hatred

-racism

Who knows. But over the purpose of this series of invading yourspace, we are going to be finding the hope in the darkness.

NEXT WEEK:

yourspace: relationships
