The Key in God’s Hand-I—Luke 1:26-38

Christians are to be Keys in God’s hands.

A SCRUTINIZED Person(:26-28, 30)

Explanation:(:26-28, 30) Watched

:26—“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,

In the sixth month—of Elizabeth’s pregnancy

At this time, A specific angel(Gabriel) was sent( to the city of Nazareth which was located in the province/state/area of Galilee.

Gabriel—Gabrihl—From layrbg—“Man/Warrior of God”—An archangel; the angel God used to send messages of great importance to man;

Sent to Daniel, to Zacharias, & Mary.

He “stands in the presence of God”(Lk. 1:19). He has “the appearance of a man & can speak with the voice of a man.”(Dan. 8:15,16). Gave Daniel “skill to understand....the vision” he had been given.(Dan. 9:21-22). He appeared to Zacharias at the Golden Altar & there prophesied of John the Baptist’s birth & ministry.

“Sent”—apostellw—Apostle—1)To order (one) to go to a place appointed; 2) To send away, dismiss —2a) To allow one to depart, that he may be in a state of liberty—2b) To order one to depart, send off—2c) To drive away.

:27—“to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary.”

Gabriel was sent specifically to a virgin who’s name was Mary. Mary was engaged/betrothed/espoused/promised to a man by the name of Joseph. Joseph was a descendant of David(his family lineage could be traced directly to king David—to whom was promised an everlasting kingdom).

“Betrothed/Engaged”—mnhsteuw—1) To woo her and ask her in marriage; 2) To be promised in marriage, be betrothed.

“Virgin”—paryenov—1) A virgin—1a) A marriageable maiden, 1b) A woman who has never had sexual intercourse with a man, 1c) one's marriageable daughter; 2) A man who has abstained from all uncleanness and whoredom attendant on idolatry, and so has kept his chastity—2a) One who has never had intercourse with women. STRONG—A maiden; by implication, an unmarried daughter:-- virgin.

“Mary”—Maria— “Their rebellion”; From —Myrm Miryam— “Rebellion.”

:28—“And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!””

Scrutinized—Eng.—‘To examine or inspect closely & thoroughly.’

—How many of us are willing to be put under the microscope, To be watched, To be seen in our privacy, To be privately spied out? We have no choice...Because is omnicient.

He is not trying to find dirt on you....He is trying to find faith & put that faith to work in & for you & others. & in this we indeed “rejoice!” as God has found us “highly favored.”

“Rejoice/Hail”—cairw—1)To rejoice, be glad; 2) To rejoice exceedingly; 3) To be well, thrive; 4) In salutations, hail!; 5) At the beginning of letters: to give one greeting, salute.

“Highly favored one”—caritow—1) To make graceful—1a) Charming, lovely, agreeable; 2) To peruse with grace, compass with favor; 3) To honor with blessings. Strong—To grace, i.e. indue with special honor:-- Make accepted, be highly favored.

:30—“Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.”

Peace with God—Rom. 5:1-2—“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, & rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

Peace of God—Php. 4:6-7—“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer & supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; & the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts & minds through Christ Jesus.”

Argumentation:

Ps. 139:3—“You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.”—NKJV

Ps 139:3 “Thou dost scrutinize my path and my lying down, And art intimately acquainted with all my ways.”—NASB

“Comprehend/Scrutinize”—hrz zaw-raw'—To toss about; by implication, to diffuse, winnow:-- cast away, compass, disperse, fan, scatter (away), spread, strew, winnow.

Job 11:11— “For He knows false men, And He sees iniquity without investigating.”

Job 31:4— “Does He not see my ways, And number all my steps?”

Nahum 1:7—“The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.”

Gal. 4:9— “But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak & worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again?”
