Hebrews 7:5 (Amplified Bible)

7:5 And it is true that those descendants of Levi who are charged with the priestly office are commanded in the Law to take tithes from the people—which means, from their brethren—though these have descended from Abraham.

I am strong and established in the Grace of GOD, in GOD's integrity, in GOD's righteousness and I have a right standing with GOD. My mind is always guarded with GOD'S WORDS.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Levi's descendants are commanded to take tithes from the people

"And it is true that those descendants of Levi who are charged with the priestly office are commanded in the Law to take tithes from the people"

Numbers 18:25-26 (Amplified Bible)

18:25 And the Lord said to Moses,

18:26 Moreover, you shall say to the Levites, When you take from the Israelites the tithe which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall present an offering from it to the Lord, even a tenth of the tithe [paid by the people].

Leviticus 27:30-33 (Amplified Bible)

27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord.

27:31 And if a man wants to redeem any of his tithe, he shall add a fifth to it.

27:32 And all the tithe of the herd or of the flock, whatever passes under the herdsman’s staff [by means of which each tenth animal as it passes through a small door is selected and marked], the tenth shall be holy to the Lord.

27:33 The man shall not examine whether the animal is good or bad nor shall he exchange it. If he does exchange it, then both it and the animal substituted for it shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

Hebrews 5:4 (Amplified Bible)

5:4 Besides, one does not appropriate for himself the honor [of being high priest], but he is called by God and receives it of Him, just as Aaron did.

The name "Levi" means "joined" because they "joined" the people of GOD to GOD Himself by serving GOD as priests, representatives of GOD for the people of GOD. One of the Levite's duties and responsibilities is to collect the tithes of the people and present them to GOD. GOD will not take any tithes away but will use them for church needs and needs of the Levites.

B. Abraham's descendants bring their tithes to Levi's descendants

"which means, from their brethren—though these have descended from Abraham"

Hebrews 7:10 (Amplified Bible)

7:10 For he was still in the loins of his forefather [Abraham] when Melchizedek met him [Abraham].

Even Levites who are priests of GOD, gave their tithes to Melchizedek because Levites are still in the loins of their forefather Abraham.

Ephesians 6:14 (Amplified Bible)

6:14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,

1 Peter 1:13 (New King James Version)

1:13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Loins is simply the hip externally speaking but internally it's the procreative power of every man. A mother gives birth to a child but the child were created in the womb of the mother because of the procreative power of the father. Procreative power because it came from GOD.

IX. CONCLUSION:

I am strong and established in the Grace of GOD, in GOD's integrity, in GOD's righteousness and I have a right standing with GOD. My mind is always guarded with GOD'S WORDS.
