A leader that is not being led by God can’t be trusted! (Dennis Deese) Jesus owns the church and thus He is the leader of the church. The church will only fulfill its mission when its leadership is following its leadership. David was a great leader because he was a great follower
The authority (position) of God must be by every leader.
I. RECOGNIZED Chapter 5
It should be recognized in our:
A. Accomplishments 5:9-10 (thankfulness) I Samuel 2:7
B. Attitude 5:12 (humility)
C. Actions 5:18-25 (dependancy)
II. RESPECTED Chapter 6
What are the evidences of one who respects God’s authority and greatness?
A. Worshiping Him 6:1-3
B. Obeying Him 6:6-7 See Numbers 4:5-6; 15; I Samuel 15:21-23; I Kings 8:6-8
C. Pleasing Him 6:21-22; Galatians 1:10; I Thessalonians 2:4
