Summary: We see many terrible things going on in this world, but the Lord has prepared you and HE KNOWS HOW TO DELIVER US! TRUST HIM!

THE LORD KNOWS HOW TO DELIVER...

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

This is a two part lesson. I do parts 1-9 in the AM and 10- 13 in the PM service.

I place a chair in front of the crowd, I walk around the chair, I ponder aloud, will this chair hold me? Will this chair break and drop me to the floor?

Will I fall in front of this crowd and be terribly embarrassed?

I. WHAT DO I KNOW?

DO I TRUST THAT OUR GOD KNOWS HOW TO DELIVER?

Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Romans 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

A. I hear people say that Americans do not trust any more. This is very wrong.

B. When you reach on that shelf for a pill for your headache you are exercising a great element of trust.

C. When we get in an elevator and push the button to go to the twentieth floor, we trust the machine, else we would not walk into that little room.

D. When we sit down in the car and turn the key we trust the battery and the starter, else we would not even place the key in the ignition.

E. While traveling down the road at 70 miles an hour in traffic all around us, we are trusting the Goodyear tires not only on our car but those around us,

or we would not get into the heavy traffic.

F. You go to the bank and deposit your money, trusting that check will not bounce, or you would not make the deposit.

G. It seems to me that we want to TRUST EVERYTHING BUT GOD.

II. I AM FREE BUT I DID NOT KNOW IT?

A. As Frederick Douglass said in 1845:

Every tone, every song, every groan was a testimony against slavery, a prayer to God for DELIVERANCE FROM CHAINS.

B. Abraham Lincoln signed THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION. President Lincoln proclaimed all men to be free and released from bondage and slavery.

C. 5 years later a black man was living in the back woods and would hide from people, he was still running as a slave. He did not believe his prayers had been heard?

D. He did not know that the President of the United States of America had declared freedom for all.

E. This poor man was free but he was acting like and living like a slave. He was delivered and had not known of his freedom.

III. DO I BELIEVE? DO I DOUBT?

A. I often say there are several credible points we must accept to hear God’s promises.

1. Are God’s promises real?

2. Are God’s promises really for me?

3. When are God’s promises going to be released in me?

B. I often say:

1. IF NOT YOU? THEN WHO?

2. IF NOT NOW? THEN WHEN?

3. IF NOT HERE? THEN WHERE?

Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou

removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

IV. DO WE KNOW HOW? OR WILL WE TRUST THE GOD THAT DOES KNOW!

A. What I do not know shall TEACH ME TO TRUST the God that does know.

Matthew 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

B. TWO GROUPS OF PEOPLE ARE VERY DANGEROUS:

1. THE KNOW IT ALL

2. THE KNOW NOTHING, THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND.

C. TO KNOW:

***To Perceive ***To understand ***To be aware

***FIXED MIND ***To be able to distinguish

D. Is it easier to know victory than to know how to use victory to your advantage?

E. Some know ignorance, some know half the truth, either one could be dangerous.

F. A smart man knows his end!

TEXT:

I Peter 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

G. DELIVERANCE:

***Liberation ***Rescue ***To set free

***To bring support ***To disburdened thoughts

***To assist in giving birth ***To speak, sing, or utter ***To send something to a target or intended destination ***To produce the promised, desired or expected ***To come through
