Summary: To show that JESUS CHRIST is the Object of our Faith and He only laughs at people, at unbelievers and the LORD JESUS CHRIST only draws them deeper to confusion.

I. EXORDIUM:

Do you have faith in JESUS?

Yes. this faith has saved me.

Romans 10:9-10 (Amplified Bible)

Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

But You, O Lord, will laugh at them [in scorn]; You will hold all the nations in derision.

Psalms 59:8 (New King James Version)

But You, O Lord, shall laugh at them; You shall have all the nations in derision.

A. The LORD JESUS laughs at our enemies

"But You, O Lord, will laugh at them [in scorn];"

Psalms 2:4 (Amplified Bible)

He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them].

Psalms 37:13 (Amplified Bible)

The Lord laughs at [the wicked], for He sees that their own day [of defeat] is coming.

1 Samuel 19:15-16 (Amplified Bible)

Then Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.

And when the messengers came in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats’ hair at its head.

Proverbs 1:26 (Amplified Bible)

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when the thing comes that shall cause you terror and panic—

"You will hold all the nations in derision."

Matthew 18:17 (Amplified Bible)

If he pays no attention to them [refusing to listen and obey], tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a pagan and a tax collector.

Leviticus 19:17 (Amplified Bible)

You shall not hate your brother in your heart; but you shall surely rebuke your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him.

Deuteronomy 19:15 (Amplified Bible)

One witness shall not prevail against a man for any crime or any wrong in connection with any sin he commits; only on the testimony of two or three witnesses shall a charge be established.

Confusion. That is the reward of unbelievers here in this life.

ILLUSTRATION: They will tell about their negative incidents in life and they will say, "you just have to have faith!" And of course according to Hebrews 11:1, Hebrews 11:6 for faith to be faith it has to be Someone you direct your faith to, an object of faith, Someone you cling to. "but they will reply all the more confuse, you just have to have faith" I will tell them prankly, You have to have faith in JESUS, but they will sneer at you in confusion.

Hebrews 11:1 (Amplified Bible)

NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Hebrews 11:6 (Amplified Bible)

But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].
