Summary: A message about learning more about having a true relationship with the Lord in the times we live in.

The More you know............Part 1

Good Morning

Stand with me and lift up your bible and repeat after me.

This is my Bible.

I am what it says I am.

I can do what it says I can do.

I am going to learn how to be what it says I can be.

Today I will learn more of the word of God.

The indestructible, never ending, living word Of God.

I will never be the same.

I will never be the same.

In Jesus Name

The more you know, the less you don’t know.

Did you ever hear that?

As we go through life, we are overwhelmed by what we do daily. Aren’t we?

There is just not enough time some days.

The word ‘time’ appears in the New King James Bible 612 times and we still miss it.

Let me give you some examples;

Turn with me to Genesis 22:15 and say, “Amen” when you are there.

Gen 22:15 “Then the Angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time out of heaven,”

God called Abraham twice.

Because He had a reason for calling Abraham.

He calls each of us.

Turn with me to Psalm 115:18 and say, “Amen” when you are there.

Psalm 115:18 But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the LORD!

Forever more?

How can we praise God sometimes with all that is going on in our world today?

Kind of a hard habit to have with all that is going on in our personal lives.

Habits are good and bad and they change with the times.

The only thing we have in life is what we learn as we go.

Sometimes we get to the point in life where we don’t know enough.

I saw a show on TV a not too long ago that showed how things were changing in our world.

Two teenage boys were asked to do something that they had never done before. Before they saw what, they were going to be doing, they had to share about what they had accomplished in school and what they planned to be in life.

One young man said he had been studying different chemicals and the reactions that they caused. He was planning on being a chemical engineer for his career. He explained that he was graduating early from his high school early at age 17 and was attending college online right now.

The second boy explained that he was an accounting major and also was attending college early as he wanted to attain his master’s degree in finance before he was 21. He wanted to be able to manage an investment firm’s future planning and development to help their clients attain a high return on their investments safely.

They were led into a nice room and were asked to sit down and make a phone call on a phone from the 1960’s. It was a rotary phone and it took them about 15 minutes to actually figure out how to use it and make a call.

We may know and learn a lot but, we don’t know sometimes the basics of life.

Sometimes our life is so overwhelmed that we forget most of what we know and we cannot dial up our own life. We know so much that we don’t know what to do when it is important.

What is most important in our lives?

How do we handle the ups and downs of life?

Biblically it seems like it is all planned out.

Turn with me to Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 in the Old testament and say, “Amen” when you are there.

Let’s read together.

3:1 Ecclesiastes; To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven:

3:2

A time to be born,

And a time to die;

A time to plant,

And a time to pluck what is planted;

3:3

A time to kill,

And a time to heal;

A time to break down,

And a time to build up;

3:4

A time to weep,

And a time to laugh;

A time to mourn,

And a time to dance;

3:5

A time to cast away stones,

And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace,

And a time to refrain from embracing

3:6

A time to gain,

And a time to lose;

A time to keep,

And a time to throw away;

3:7

A time to tear,

And a time to sew; A time to keep silence,

And a time to speak;

3:8

A time to love,

And a time to hate;

A time of war,

And a time of peace.

These are somewhat scary and wonderful.

But this is the world the we live in. We were given free will.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

He has made everything beautiful in its time.
