Summary: If we really believe in His presence our lives will be different.

THE POWER OF HIS PRESENCE

Lk. 6:17-19.

You ever notice that anytime you read the gospels about the life of Jesus that where ever He would go good things would always happen in the end?

Someone would be healed, protected, forgiven, or enlightened.

There was something about the presence of Jesus that made all the difference.

Isn’t the same true for us today? Didn’t He promise to be with us always? If we could really believe in the presence of Jesus in our lives today our stories; the chapters of our lives would always have happy endings.

Notice these verses in Lk. 6:17-19. Comment.

Let’s notice today what the power of His presence brings to our lives.

I. HIS PRESENCE BRINGS US POWER.

Lk. 6:19. Lk. 8:46. You ever notice that His power never ran out? Ours does. We get tired, confused, discouraged, overwhelmed. Because we are drawing from our own source of strength we run out. If we could learn to rely on His presence than we could have all the power we need.

How many light bulbs to you think you could power with a pedal generator and for how long? But Niagara falls is the biggest electricity producer in New York State, generating 2.4 million kilowatts—enough power to light 24 million 100-watt bulbs at once.

We can’t imagine what God can do through us if we will only believe in His presence.

2 Cor. 9:8-12

II. HIS PRESENCE BRINGS UP HIS PEACE.

Mark 4:35-41.

Notice His question in v. 40. Why? I would have said there is a storm going on and I don’t swim to good.

His point: when you have Jesus in your presence, you should know that at anytime he can say to the storm peace be still and it will happen.

III. HIS PRESENCE BRINGS US HOPE.

Go back to Lk. 6:17-19. You know where you find people today? Where their needs are being met.

We live in a world of hopelessness and despair. If we can let people know that Jesus is in our presence guess where they will be?

IV. WHEN JESUS IS IN OUR PRESENCE HE MAKES US CLEAN.

John 8:1-12.

Two things about this story. He forgives sin and He is a motivation for living holy lives.

Lk. 19:1-9.

If we really believe in His presence would we change some things in our life?

CONCLUSION

If we could just really believe in His presence everyday and every moment, how different would our lives be?

Jesus always turns our bad news in to good news. Just by being their when it happens.

From stormy days to hurricanes aren’t you glad He is in your boat?
