The Power of The Shout
Oh, Clap your hands all ye people, Shout unto God with the voice of triumph! God is gone up with a shout, The LORD with the sound of a trumpet. Psalm 47:1,5
1. We can shout for our salvation.
Ps 20:5
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, …
a. we will rejoice, “to shout”
b. in thy salvation, “something saved”
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

2. We can shout for joy.

3. The power of the shout brings down the walls.
Josh 6:5
all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat,

b. great, “great in intensity”
c. shout, “a shout of war, a battle cry”

4. The power of the shout brings Victory.
The word "shout" is the Hebrew word "ruwa", which means "to split the ears with sound; to mar, especially by breaking."
Judges 7:13-22 describes the battle of Gideon’s three hundred God chosen men against the Midianites and all the people of the east. We are told that the Midianites were "as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as the sand of the seashore in multitude." Gideon divided his men into three companies and they set out to surround the enemy camp while they were sleeping. Gideon had commanded the three hundred to do as he did: they blew the trumpets, broke the pitchers and cried, "The sword of the Lord and of Gideon." The enemy camp ran, fled and began to kill one another. The battle was won.
Psalm 47:5 declares that "God has gone up with a shout."
a. gone, “stir up” So, we could say that God has been "stirred up" with a shout.
Psalm 68:1 says, "Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered."
