Psalm 126:1-6 THE PSALM OF THE SOWER I. THERE IS A WORD OF PROPHESY A. Their Sudden Deliverance – 1 When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Chron 36:21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

22 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, 23 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up B. Their Sincere Delight – 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. C. Their Sound Declaration

3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. II. THERE IS A WORD OF PRAISE

(a) The Heathen said 2 The LORD hath done great things for them.

(b) The Holy said 3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. III. THERE IS A WORD OF PRAYER 4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

Blessedness led to greater Boldness (Abraham on Sodom)

IV. THERE IS A WORD OF PROMISE

5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

C. The Triumph Of The Sower - in joy.

6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Ps 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
