[the Sermon:] V. The Preparation Of The People (Vs. 11-14) Series

This Psalm is a picture of the Victorious Believers Life -- When Madness of Life is Metastasized we can have confidence that we Serve a God who is able to Miraculously Deliver those who Trust in Him.

Also this Psalm is a Procedural Reminder as to the order in which the believer should operate. Remember that the Psalm began with a Hymn of Praise! Praise must Proceed the Preaching. Worship comes before the Word. The First half of this Psalm was the Hymn...now we have the Sermon. O.T. When they would need to seek a word from the Prophet or the Priest they would call for the Worshipers the Singers. (2Ki 3:15 NKJV) "But now bring me a musician." Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.

[THE SERMON:] V. The Preparation of the people (vs. 11-14) The Lord doesn’t want His people to be uniformed. (Hos 4:6) “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

A. The Lesson (11) -- Teach -- lä·mad' -- to learn. teach, exercise in.

These are the necessary disciplines which are needed to continue to grow in our walk with the Lord. People in the medical field, insurance, real estate and many other fields require furthering education in their field even though they are already qualified in their field.

It’s really no different for the Believer. (Pro 1:7 NKJV) The fear (Respect, Awesome, Revere) of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge, [But] fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Spending Time in the Mountains -- It makes you feel small...they are Awe Inspiring -- Thus the Correlation between God and the Mountains in the Bible. The Mountain of GOD!

B. The Life (12) -- Fear can be a good thing and also a bad thing. Fear can be a reason you live; however Fear / Anxiety can shorten your lifespan.

What is the secret to long life? Healthy Balance.

Good of Fear -- Mountain Climbing, Fire arms, Driving a Car, Fire -- all these things have a purpose that can be for Good….when you fail to show the proper respect you can die.

Bad of Fear -- Worry, Worry is the opposite of Faith! Worry say’s to God...I Fear my circumstances more than I fear You!

The Secret to a Long Healthy and Prosperous life….to see Good is the fear of the Lord. ALSO:

C. The Lips (13) -- “keeping your tongue from evil, and lips from speaking deceit”

(Pro 18:21 NKJV) Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

(Mat 12:37 NKJV) "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."

The Secret to a long and prosperous life of Good -- is knowing how to Shut your mouth.

Mama...got her truth from the Word of God when she said: “if you don’t have anything good to say, be quiet, don’t say anything at all.”

Speaking Deceit -- the sense of deceiving or fraud. “Bearing False witness”

(Pro 10:19 NKJV) In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips [is] wise.

D. The Long and Short (14) -- The Summary of the Preparation of the People of God.

How do we make disciples...prepare people to live Long, Healthy, Prosperous loves of Good, Favor and Blessings of God?

Depart from evil and do good -- this is a principle we have been learning from childhood.

(3Jo 1:11 NKJV) Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.

Seek Peace and pursue it. -- We won’t always be able to enjoy Peace as long as there is Evil, and long as there are those hell bent on the pursuit of Selfish Ambition.

Answer: (Rom 12:18 NKJV) If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
