Summary: Getting through the storms of life

The storms

Scripture: Mark 4: 35-41

35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”

36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.

37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat so that it was already filling.

38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Pray

Have you experienced storms in your life?

Times when things just did not make sense.

Times when our problems seemed big and faith seemed so small.

Have you ever thought God where are You

God how could you let me go through this alone

Have there ever been times when we feel scared that we are going to be taken over by the storms,

Have you ever felt, afraid, and uncertain?

We all have gone through those kinds of storms in life

In fact, Some are going through them right now.

It may be A relationship,

Your job,

school,

It could be your health,

fiances

kids

family

You have been overwhelmed with struggles and trials like never before.

And sometimes it seems like they are going to overtake you.

Some of you all are in the biggest battle of your life.

Some of you feel like you are about to go under

But I want to tell you this morning

Keep fighting

Don’t give up, don’t give in, don’t be weary and faint of heart.

God is about to turn it around

Look at the person beside you and tell them you are going to make it,

You may have hit a rough spot, and it may seem like you’re going to drown,

But you’re not going down,

You’re not going under.

God has invested too much in you to let you throw in the towel or to let you drown.

The storm you are in right now hasn’t been a setback but it has been a setup.

What was sent to take yo under is going to carry you over.

What was sent to break you down is going to lift you up.

Tell the devil: you can’t drown me,

I’m unsinkable,

I am unmovable

I am unshakeable

Everything around me may go down but you can’t drown me.

The call in your life is greater than the storm you’re in

God has been setting you up!

He sent the perfect storm your way.

I am preaching to someone who thought the devil sent this...

But God sent it.

Look at your neighbor and say God caused this.

—————————————————————————-

Now I know what you are thinking

Pastor why would God send a storm like this

Well let's look at the Bible

The bible says in Job that Satan appeared unto the lord and the Lord said what do you want devil?

Satan said I am looking to and fro for someone to tempt

I am looking for someone to bring down.

And the bible says that the Lord said have you considered my servant job

For there is none like him?

?Someone in here today been going around rebuking satan for the battle.

Been stomping on Satan because of the problems and struggles.

You have been questioning God why is this happening to me?

What have I done so wrong?

Let me tell you something you have not done anything wrong

God’s just been bragging on you.

God’s been speaking on your behalf.

God has faith in you and He simply said what about my servant ________ there is none like them!!

And the bible says that job began to lose everything he had

Report after report of loss and destruction.

Day after day total devastation.

let me tell someone in hear that has lost everything,

your marriage is over, your life is in turmoil

You look around you and all you see is the storm.

the high waters, the flood

But hold on victory is on the way.

You’re about to experience God in a whole other dimension.

God is setting you up for the greatest miracle of your life.

I came by to tell someone this morning

You cried your last tear yesterday!!

You are not stressing this anymore.
