The Sure Cure For Care

Summary: There is a universal aspect to care. The entire world is affected. No one is exempt...but there is a sure cure if we anchor our trust in the Lord.
THE ONLY SURE CURE FOR CARE
"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." I Peter 5:6-7.
DEFINITION OF "CARE"
" A troubled or engrossed state of mind or the thing that causes this." "Suffering of mind: GRIEF"
CARE: A UNIVERSAL REALITY
The entire world is affected. No one is exempt. Much may trouble the mind of man: strife among nations; worldwide terrorist activities; domestic violence; personal safety; economic conditions; health concerns and the list goes on and on.
CARE: AN AVAILABLE CURE
There is Someone who really cares for us and can do something about it.
"Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." Consider:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19.
CARE: APPROPRIATING THE CURE
An unwavering trust in God is the key to victory over care. "Trust" is defined as "assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something. Consider these truths:
God is worthy of our trust:
"Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Thy faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23
God urges us to put our trust in Him:
"Come unto Me, all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28
God will honor our trust:
"Trust in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not on thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6.
ADVICE FROM THE LORD JESUS:
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
