The True Church Of God

Summary: This sermon is to make people to know about the true Church of God. We must know how to join the real Church of God so that we not be decieve by so many false christs, false prophets, and false teachers.
Text: 1 Thessalonians 2: 14
INTRODUCTION:
1. Is there a true Church of God?
2. Read the text…….
3. So, the real name of the true Church of God is Church of God in Christ Jesus.
4. This is the Church that Jesus established.
P R A Y E R: Let us pray…..
BODY:
1. Matthew 16: 18 (Read)
2. So, the true Church of God was established by Jesus Himself.
3. Therefore, if we are Christians, then, there is no need to establish another kind of church to compete with the real one just to lead people to hell.
4. Sad thing to note, that today, there are so many so-called Christian churches established by men and they called it also the church of God or Christ.
5. Psalm 127: 1 (Read)
6. Therefore, only God can build His house or church not established by men but God Himself.
7. Therefore, what should a Christian do in order to belong to the long-established Church of God in the Bible?

1. HE HAS TO JOIN WITH A LOCAL CHURCH THAT BELONGS TO THE ESTABLISHED CHURCH OF GOD IN THE BIBLE.

2. HE HAS TO BE UNDER THE AUTHORITY AND JURISDICTION OF GOD.

d. So, we must submit to the authority of God not of men as Peter said in Acts 5: 29; “We ought to obey God rather than men.”
3. HE HAS TO OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS OF CHRIST NOT OF MEN.
a. John 14: 15 (Read)
b. So, any denomination or sect that does not obey any of the commandments of Christ is not of God.
c. Galatians 1: 8 (Read)
d. So, any church that does not teach the gospel of Christ is not a Church of God but of the devil. 1 Timothy 4: 1
CONCLUSION:
Therefore, in order not to be mistaken in joining a local church or Fellowship, what should a Christian do?
1. Join a Church that belongs to God.
2. Join a Church that is under the authority and jurisdiction of God not of men.
3. Join a church that teaches the gospel of Christ not of men.
Therefore, be sure to join the right Church that is a member of the Church of God in Christ Jesus that is in the Bible. Remember that unless you are a member of the Church of Christ, they you have no hope of salvation, as Paul said in Ephesians 5: 23 (Read)
