I. God’s Word Offers The Greatest Possession!
19:10 - “More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold!”
“Gold Is Good, Fine Gold Is Better, Much Fine Gold Is Best, Yet God’s Word Is Better Than The Best, And More To Be Desired!” (Scroggie)
What Is Your Greatest Possession?
IE: George W. Truett, a well-known pastor, was invited to dinner in the home of a very wealthy man in Texas. After the meal, the host led him to a place where they could get a good view of the surrounding area. Pointing to the oil wells punctuating the landscape, he boasted, “Twenty-five years ago I had nothing. Now, as far as you can see, it’s all mine. Looking in the opposite direction at his sprawling fields of grain, he said, That’s all mine. Turning east toward huge herds of cattle, he bragged, They’re all mine! Then pointing to the west and a beautiful forest, he exclaimed, That too is all mine! He paused, expecting Dr. Truett to compliment him on his great success. Truett, however, placing one hand on the man’s shoulder and pointing heavenward with the other, simply said, How much do you have in that direction? The man hung his head and confessed, I never thought of that!

II. God’s Word Offers The Greatest Pleasure!
19:10 - “Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb!”
“Honey is good, and droppings of the honeycomb are very sweet, but the Word of God is sweeter still!” (Scroggie)

“Sweetness To The Soul!” Sometimes It Can Taste Bitter – But It Is Not Because God’s Word Is Bitter – Rather, It Is Our Response To God’s Word! IE: Roommate That Liked Lemons!

III. God’s Word Offers The Greatest Protection!
19:11 - “Moreover by them is thy servant warned!”
IE: A Jew Wanted To Poison & Kill Martin Luther - A Friend Sent A Warning To Luther Along With A Portrait Of The Killer! This Is What God’s Word Does! It Warns Us By Painting A Portrait Of Everything That Seeks To Bring Us Out Of God’s Will & Work! A Portrait Of The World, Our Own Flesh & The Devil!

IV. God’s Word Offers The Greatest Profit!
19:11 - “And in keeping of them there is great reward!”
Not Just “For” Keeping Them! But “In” Keeping Them!

For A Christian, “Fulfillment” Is Not Just The Pay-Check At The End, But In The Work & Service Itself!

V. God’s Word Offers The Greatest Probe!
19:12 - “Who can understand his errors?”
We Are Told In Many Places To Examine Ourselves! 1 Corinthians 11:28 - “But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup!” 2 Corinthians 13:5 - “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” How Are We To Do This? Through The Use Of God’s Word! IE: Like The Hubble Telescope, Able To Pierce Deeply Into The Sky - Or Like An Electron Microscope, Able To Pick Apart The Smallest Atom!

Psalm 139:23-24 - “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”
