WHAT IS THE WILL OF THE FATHER?

REV. HJ LEWIS 11/2/2012

OFTEN TIMES WHEN WE THINK ABOUT THE WILL OF THE FATHER, DO WE EVER ASK OURSELVES ARE WE DOING THE WILL OF THE FATHER? WHAT IS HIS WILL? WHAT DOES HE EXSPECT OF US?

I COME TODAY IN THE NAME OF THE ALMIGHTY TO SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS SUBJECT. PLEASE TAKE IN MIND THAT I'M ONLY STRACHING THE SURFACE AND IT WILL BE UP TO YOU TO STUDY THIS IN IT'S ENTIREITY.

WHAT DOES WILL MEAN? WILL USE AS A VERB MEANS PRESENT/ WHILE WOULD MEANS PAST. SO FOR US TO DO GOD'S WILL WE MUST BE LIVING IN THE PRESENT AND NOT AS WE WOULD, OR HOW WE WANT. GOD’S WILL IS NOT DONE IN THE OLD MAN BUT THROUGH THE NEW MAN AND THROUGH THOSE WHO ARE A NEW CREATURES WHICH HAS ALLOW OLD THINGS TO PASS AWAY.

NOW, THE WILL OF THE FATHER IS TO WALK IN the LORD'S LOVE. WHEN YOU WALK IN THE LORD'S LOVE, YOU POSITION YOURSELF TO DO HIS WILL. NOW WHEN WE DO GODS WILL DO WE BECOME PLEASING IN HIS SITE? DOING THE WILL IS APPLYING THAT WHICH IS RIGHT, THEREFORE PLEASING GOD. SO BEING WILLING ALONG WITH DOING HIS WILL IS TO WALK IN GODS LOVE, THUS PLEASING HIM.

JHON 14; 15 SAYS" IF YOU LOVE ME, YOU WILL KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS." SO WHAT ARE HIS COMMANDMENTS AND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE KEEP THEM? ARE WE DOING HIS WILL, ARE WE BEING PLEASING IN HIS SITE? IS THE OLD TESTAMENT THE WILL OF THE FATHER? MATTHEW 5:17 JESUS SAID, "DO NOT THINK THAT I CAME TO DESTROY THE LAW OF THE PROPHETS. I DID NOT COME TO DESTROY BUT TO FULFILL. SO HIS WILL IS TO CONTINUE WITH THE LAW OF MOSES. (AMEN) JOHN 15:12 SAYS: THIS IS MY COMMANDMENT THAT YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU. HE ALSO TOLD US TO LOVE HIM WITH ALL OUR HEART SOUL AND MIND. THIS ALSO IS THE WILL OF THE FATHER.

JAMES 1:7 PURE AND UNDEFILED RELIEGION BEFORE GOD AND THE FATHER IS THIS; TO VISIT ORPHANS AND WIDOWS IN THEIR TROUBLE AND TO KEEP ONE SELF UNSPOTTED FROM THE WORLD.

SO HOW DO WE RECONIGZE HIS WILL?

1KING 18:41-45 ELIJAH PRAYED FOR RAIN. IT WAS NOT HIS ASKING OR PRAYING ONLY THAT CAUSES IT TO RAIN. BUT GOD ALSO WANTED THIS TO BE SO. IT WAS HIS WILL THAT AHAB WITNESS THIS.

IT WAS HIS WILL THAT THE WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD BE HEALED. HER FAITH WAS STRONG, BUT GODS' WILL IS STRONGER.

IT WAS HIS WILL THAT WATER BE TURN INTO WINE, SO THAT GOD WOULD RECIEVE THE GLORY.

TO OFTEN WHEN WE PRAY, WE ASK FOR THINGS THAT WE HAVE NO NEED OF OR WE PRAY AGAINST OTHERS. ALL OF US HAVE PRAYED FOR RICHES. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN ONE OF OUR LOVE ONES HAVE BEEN ON THEIR DEATH BED, AND WE PRAY FOR THIER HEALING AND THEY WERE NOT HEAL. DID WE PRAY RIGHT? ARE WE SAVED ENOUGH? OR WAS IT NOT GODS WILL FOR THAT PERSON TO BE HEALED OR TO LIVE. IF IT'S NOT GODS WILL IT, WILL NOT BE FULFILLED.

THAT IS WHY WHEN JESUS ASKED GOD; “FATHER, FATHER, WHY HAS THOU FORSAKEN ME?“AND MADE THE STATEMENT, “LET THIS CUP PASS FROM ME” THAT HIS PRAYERS WENT UNANSWER BECAUSE IT WAS NOT THE WILL OF THE FATHER. THIS HAD TO BE DONE SO THAT WE MAY HAVE SALVATION, AND THAT THE CAPTIVES BE SET FREE.

WHY HIS WILL DO NOT GET DONE!
