Summary: The words Jesus spoke will be one of the ways we will be judged.

The Word I Spoke

December 1. 2002

Last week we looked at the first of the four ways we will be judged which is in the way we believe.

JOHN 3:17 18

17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

18 "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

This week we will look at the second way and that is.

JOHN 12:47 48

47 "If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 "He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.

Here are some of the verses where Jesus spoke about the His Word and what will or will not happen to those that do follow His Word.

JOHN 5:24

24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

If you follow His Word and believe you will hear your name read from the Lambs Book of Life.

JOHN 8:31 32

31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;

32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

You will be a true disciple of His.

JOHN 8:51

51 "Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he will never see death."

You will live forever.

JOHN 14:23

23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God will live within you.

REVELATION 3:8

8 "1 know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.

The door that is open is the door to Heaven. The word of God is part of the armor of the soldier of God and is the only defensive weapon we have.

EPHESIANS 6:13 17

13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,

15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;

16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

This is why it is the only weapon we need.

HEBREWS 4:12 13

12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

In the Word of God we are told we need to know it.

2 TIN40THY 2:15 15

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. NASU

2 TIMOTHY 2:15

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. KJV

The reason we need to study the Word is because there as come a time when ignorance will not be an excuse.

ACTS 17:30 31

30 "Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,

31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead."

PLAN OF SALVATION

ROMANS 10: 17

17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

HEBREWS 11:6

6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
