Summary: Why do people depart? Outline to use as the Lord directs

“They Need Not Depart”

Matthew 14:15-16

It is not often that I ask you to look at just a phrase of a verse. I think it is very important that we look at the whole text and ask the Lord to speak to our hearts, but I was struck with a thought about this little phrase and I want to look at it today.

They need not depart because:

I. We Have All We Need

- So many from this book. Jesus said in Matt:4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

- Man has attempted to rewrite & water down this book by introducing other books and call them the Bible.

Let me state for the record the KJV is enough.

They need not depart because:

II. We Find Safety In Numbers.

Matt 9:36 “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”

They need not depart because:

III. Jesus Is The Bread Of Life

John 6:35 “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”

They need not depart because:

IV. Jesus Will Come To Where You Are

Matt. 8:5-7 “And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.”

They need not depart because:

V. Jesus Will Send Forth Labors

Matt. 9:37-38 “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

They need not depart because:

VI. Yet Some Did

Mat 12:14 “Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.”

Matt. 19: 21-22 “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.”

Acts 26:28 “Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.”

Conclusion:

There is no need for one person to depart from here this morning and not have Jesus in you’re heart as Saviour.

There is no need of one person departing here today saying we need to find a better Bible

There is no need for one person to depart from the sweet fellowship that a church family offers.

They need not depart
