Isaiah 57:15, "For thus saith the high and lofty one that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."

(1) What is His name?

(A) His name is Holy: Names with us are selected because of pleasant asssociation or remembrance of someone or someplace for the purpose of distinguishing one person from another.

In biblical times name were given because they expressed some quality in the person or some prophecy concerning the individual named.

(B) Divine names in scripture are both instructive and important.

a" Whose name is holy" Holiness is the essential characteristic of of His being.

b"High and lofty one" -- Supreme

He is supremely higher than all of creation. Whether human or of angelic being.

Supreme in character, (1Sam. 2:2) "There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside Thee; neither is there any rock like our God."

.

c Supreme in authority.

He is the King of Kings, His dominion is over all things, His kingdom has no end (Rev. 4:9)

(2) Where Does He Live?

(A) He occupies all of eternity: He fills all space, there are no boundaries that can contain Him.

(B) He lives in Heaven- the habitation of His throne.

(Psalms 123:1) "Unto Thee lift I up mine eyes, O Thou that dwellest in the heavens"

(C) He is found in His church on earth- (Psalms 9:11) "Sing praises unto the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people His doings"

(Matt. 18:20) "For where two or three or gathered together in My name , there am I in the midst of them."

(D) He resides in the human heart.

Think of it! So great as to fill the immense universe, and so condescending as to dwell in your heart and mine.

God longs to live within the human soul (Prv.23:26) "My son give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe My ways."

(3) What Kind of Work Does He Do?

(A) He does a work that only God can do.

a. He is in the delivering business, Moses and the Children of Israel, David and Goliath, The Three Hebrew Children, Paul And Silas etc.

b. He is in the restoration business ... Everything the cankerworm & the palmerworm have devoured, He restores health, family, finances, our mind , peace, etc.

c. He is in the Healing business, (Acts. 10:38) Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him."

d. He is in the banking business... He saves
