Trust Him To Direct Thy Paths

Summary: We are to do the trusting and God is to do the directing. Proverbs 20:24
Lamentations 3:9; path is a course of life. Have you ever hit a detour in the road? A deviation? Truth is, life is full of surprises and sometimes as we are heading down the path of life, God puts up a detour. He alters our path, course of life! Remember we travel down a road we never wanted to.
I. Detours Can Trick Us.
1. Paul is a good example.
2. He was called to be the apostle to the Gentiles.
3. He often landed in jail. While he was there, he led several people to Christ, he wrote 5 books of the Bible
4. He kept his eyes on Christ.
5. He stayed the course.
II. Detours Can Teach Us.
1. Romans 8:28
2. Jesus sent the disciples on a detour across the sea to teach them to trust Him.
3. Mark 6:45-52
III. Detours Can Train Us.
1. The difference between teach and training is the difference between knowledge and experience.
2. We learn through difficulties.
3. God allows detours in our paths to train us for something down the road of life.
IV. Detours Will Test Us.
1. James 1:2-4
2. God loves us!
3. He is with us all the time!
5. God has laid before us a test.
6. Sometimes we walk down a road we never wanted to travel, but when that happens, we must keep our eyes on Him.
7. Don’t panic, trust the Lord for what He has done in your life.
