Summary: GOD HAS A PLAN... His plan is much more than burying the dead. God's plan is to break the fallow ground and sow seeds. What looks like dead seeds will bring THE HARVEST. Do not eat the SEED CORN!

UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE IN A BURIAL AND PLANTING SEED

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr Kyfingers@aol.com

TEXT:

Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for

it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

MAYBE WHAT YOUR ARE LOOKING FOR IS RIGHT OUT SIDE THE BOUNDARYS

OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE?

A YOUNG BOY TRIED OUT FOR A PART IN THE CHRISTMAS PLAY AT SCHOOL.

His mom knew how he had his heart set on having the leading role in the play.

He practice and practice for the TRY OUTS.

The day of the TRY OUTS, the young boy failed miserably.

His mom picked him up at school.

The boy ran to the car, ever so excited.

He said: MOMMA, I HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO CLAP AND CHEER!

Maybe God's plans for us is different than being THE STAR.

Consider the ROLE OF TWO MEN: AARON and HUR.

Their role was simple: HOLD UP THE HANDS OF THEIR LEADER.

Let us define:

BURY: to put something dead in the grave, to hide in the ground, to dispose of by depositing in

the ground, to conceal by covering with earth,

PLANT: to place in the ground to grow, a seed dies in the cold damp ground, then the sun and

water brings forth life.

THE NORM IS WHEN WE BURY SOMETHING THERE WILL BE HEARTACHE...

THE MAN KNEW WHEN HE BURIED HIS TALENT --- HE WAS AFRAID...

Matthew 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou

art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where

I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to

the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IN BURYING AND PLANTING IS THE HARVEST...

When Cindy Morgan was a little girl, I was in college and sent a lot of time at their house.

Her mom, Lola was working planting seeds.

Lola asked me: WHY DO SEEDS AND PLANTS GROW UPWARD?

I had no clue? Cindy, with her curly locks of hair said: I KNOW! THEY WANT TO GET THEIR FACE

OUT OF THE DIRT. Well, said, girl.

DO NOT EAT THE SEED CORN ... WE BURY THE SEED, WE EXPECT MORE THAN DEATH...

WE KNOW THE LORD OF THE HARVEST...

Growing up we always raise a huge garden for our family and church people.

Dad always saved some of the seed from the hickory cane corn and white half runners

in sealed jars. We canned, we froze, we dried the crop to eat...

OFTEN DAD WOULD SAY: DON'T EAT THE SEED THAT IS FOR NEXT YEARS CROP.

John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth

alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

1 Corinthians 15:36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

IF WHAT YOU HAVE IS NOT ENOUGH, MAYBE IT IS INTENDED AS SEED?

IF --- THE HARVEST IS CONDITIONAL...

BY FRIEND, YOU DO NOT BURY THE SEED, YOU PLANT IT IN EXPECTATION OF THE HARVEST.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of

the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap,

if we faint not.

WHAT AM I PLANTING? WE HAVE A PROMISE.

THE MAN OF GOD SEEMS LIKE DEATH AND WANTS TO BURY HIS MINISTRY...

AFTER ALL THE LIFE IS ABOUT PLANTING NOT BURYING. WE TEND TO DOUBT SELF AND

THROW A PITY PARTIES...ARE WE LEARNING THE LESSON... PROBLEMS HAVE PURPOSE,

WHAT AM I SOWING HERE?

Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and

winter, and day and night shall not cease.

THE WIND SHAKES ALL AROUND THE PREACHER --- NOT GOD

THERE WAS AN EARTHQUAKE --- THAT WAS NOT GOD...

THERE WAS A FIRE --- THAT WAS NOT GOD...

ALL MINISTRY IS ABOUT PLANTING, GOD'S LESSON OF OPEN AND CLOSED DOORS CAN

GIVE A SECOND CHANCE... REAL MINISTRY IS NOT WHAT HAVE YOU HARVESTED TODAY,
