Unshakable Faith

Luke 12:28-31 (NKJV)

28 "If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? 29 "And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind.

30 "For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things.

31 "But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.

I. WHAT IS FAITH?

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)

7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

WHICH MEANS YOU DON’T GIVE UP HOPE, EVEN WHEN YOU CAN’T SEE ANY SIGN OF HELP OR RELIEF.

WHICH TOTALLY GOES AGAINST THE WORLD’S IDEA OF:

“I’LL BELIEVE IT, WHEN I SEE IT.”

THIS GENERATION IS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TANGIBLE, THAT THEY CAN PUT THEIR HANDS ON. SOMETHING THAT THEY CAN EXPERIENCE AND FEEL.

20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ’Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

III. HOW’S IT WORK?

James 2:17 (NIV)

17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

JUST AS ANYTHING REQUIRES ACTION TO WORK

YOUR CAR REQUIRES YOU TO INSERT AND TURN THE KEY

TO COOK, YOU MUST TURN THE STOVE ON

FOR LIGHT, YOU MUST FLIP THE SWITCH

WE HAVE TO BE MEN AND WOMEN OF ACTION, IF WE WANT TO SEE MIRCLES, SIGNS, AND WONDERS. WE JUST CAN’T SIT AROUND AND WAIT FOR THE BLESSINGS TO DROP OUT OF THE SKY.

HOW DO I GET MORE?

Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

IT SEEMS WE ARE ALWAYS CONCERNED WITH GETTING MORE.

LET ME GIVE YOU A LITTLE OF PASTOR JEREMY’S PHILOSOPHY.

IF YOU ARE NOT USING WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE, WHY SHOULD HE GIVE YOU ANY MORE.

1. FAITH IS DOING SOMETHING YOU HAVE NEVER DONE

2. FAITH IS GOING SOMEWHERE YOU HAVE NEVER GONE

3. FAITH IS TAKING A STEP WHEN THERE IS NO STEP

4. FAITH IS GIVING WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE IT TO GIVE

V. ALL YOU HAVE

Matthew 9:20-22 (NKJV)

20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment.

21 For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well."

22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.

HER FAITH WAS ALL SHE HAD LEFT.

WHEN DANIEL WAS IN THE LIONS DEN, FAITH WAS ALL HE HAD LEFT.

WHEN THE THREE HEBREW CHILDREN WERE IN THE FIERY FURNACE, FAITH WAS ALL THEY HAD LEFT.

WHEN JARIUS’ DAUGHTER DIED, FAITH WAS ALL HE HAD LEFT.

WHEN JOB HAD LOST EVERYTHING, FAITH WAS ALL HE HAD LEFT.

WHEN EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE IS GOING WRONG, YOU HAVE LOST YOUR JOB, YOUR CAR IS BROKE DOWN, YOU MARRIAGE IS FALLING APART, YOUR HEALTH IS SLIPPING, AND YOUR DOG HAS RAN AWAY.

WHEN FAITH IS ALL YOU HAVE LEFT, HAVE FAITH AND KNOW AND THAT JESUS SAID THAT HE WOULD NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU. HE IS SIMPLY WAITING ON YOU TO BELIEVE.

III. JUST WAIT

THIS MAY BE THE HARDEST THING TO DO

Phillipians 4:6-7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

AGAIN, IT TELLS OF SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE GOT TO DO.

IN ORDER TO OVERCOME IN THIS LIFE, WE MUST HAVE UNSHAKABLE FAITH.

NOT IN PROFESSIONAL ATLETES, MOVIE STARS, THE PRESIDENT OR BILL GATES. NONE OTHER THAN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
