Mishaps happen to everyone. Psalm 34:19 – May are the afflictions of the righteous

Job, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Elijah, Daniel, Paul – All of them went through storms. Those who want lead a godly life in Christ Jesus will undergo persecution. Acts 14:22 – We enter the Kingdom through many afflictions. If both righteous and unrighteous go through afflictions, what’s the difference? Psalm 34:21 – Afflictions Kill the Unrighteous; Psalm 34:19 – God redeems the righteous from his afflictions

1) Supplication (1-3)

• Two realities – God, Enemy

• God – Refuge (Hear the footsteps)

• God – Sustainer – El Elyon (Bring to Completion)

• God – Savior (Mercy and Faithfulness)

2) Affliction (4,6)

• Cave of Lions – Strength, Hunger, Cruelty

• Fiery Furnace – Burns around us

• War of Words – Gossip, Ridicule

• Hunting – Elephant Trap

3) Worship (7-11)

• Acknowledge the Greatness of God

• Look at ‘Yourself’ – no way to worship – Look above – See God high and lifted up

• Our gains and losses must be for the glory of God and worship

o Strong Mind – Worship

o Weak mind – Discouragement and Fear

• He says, “Mind wake up, Harp, Wake up. Worships amidst the enemies and the heathens.

Let our Caves wake up with worship. Until the affliction passes and even after
