Have any great men been born in this world? No, only babies.

In America we have a leadership crisis. We live in an age of tolerance where protecting feelings is more highly valued than proclaiming the truth. People look with suspicion upon anyone who desires to influence others to embrace their beliefs. Thomas Jefferson proclaimed, “In matters of fashion, swim with the current. In matters of conscience, stand like a rock.”

1. Americans often look to celebrities, pop stars, rappers, sports and political figures for their leadership. Many homes are dysfunctional (absentee parent(s), substance, physical and sexual abuse, neglect).

2. Barna studies show that in this time of unprecedented opportunity and plentiful resources, the American church will lose its influence without strong leadership.

3. Nothing is more important than leadership. Without appropriate leaders in place, the body of Christ, as well as homes and organizations flounder

4. Leadership develops daily, not in a day. Growing in leadership involves: a) decisions, b) development, c) motivation, d) maturity, e) culture, f) challenges, g) changes, h) difficulty and i) years.

5. Champions are always built through: a) skills, b) experience, c) training, d) attitude, e) timing, f) relationships and g) wisdom.

6. Success is found in our daily agenda in everyday living, it is not a big miraculous thing. Success is not a destination, it is a daily journey. Success is not somewhere that you arrive. You did not become successful when you got your diploma; everyday at school you were successful.

7. Success is expressed through your: a) priorities, b) passions, c) abilities, d) emotional stability, e) personal discipline, f) vision and g) influence.

Today, most people do not believe the major impact they will have on the world. The truth is every spirit is powerful. Sociologist say that even introverted people will influence an average of 10,000 people in their lifetime. Whether you are the parent in a family, the pastor of a church, the CEO of a company or a potential leader for the next generation, you are called to influence others. You are called to be a leader. MPC, please join me as we work together to add value and influence to a lost and dying world. Jesus is leading us.

4. Get involved in leadership

5. Be faithful to come to church and support your church and vision
