Summary: WALKIN IN THE FAVOR OF GOD
WALKING IN THE F.O.G
9Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
30But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
8Hear my prayer, O LORD God Almighty;
listen to me, O God of Jacob.
9Look upon our shield, O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.
10Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. 3In the course of time Cain brought some of the
fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. 4But Abel brought fat portions from some of the
firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5but on Cain and his
offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
5The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination
of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6The LORD was grieved that he had made
man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind,
whom I have created, from the face of the earth--men and animals, and creatures that move along
the ground, and birds of the air--for I am grieved that I have made them." 8But Noah found favor
in the eyes of the LORD.
4And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had
respect unto Abel and to his offering:
8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
2A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
2Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness;
even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
46Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob

(3.) She has the blessing of God upon her: "Blessed art thou among women; not only thou shalt
be accounted so by men, but thou shalt be so. Thou that art so highly favoured in this instance
mayest expect in other things to be blessed." She explains this herself (v. 48), All generations shall
call me blessed. Compare it with that which Deborah saith of Jael, another that was the glory of
her sex (Judg 5:24), Blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
