Summary: It was the Passover and Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper and out of all that happened that Thursday evening at the table, they went out singing a hymn.

The scene is the last supper on Thursday evening; Calvary is next on the agenda; supper being over, Jesus said, "I will not drink henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom, verse 29: And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the Mount of Olives.

The things Jesus taught: Prayer, stewardship, discipleship, love your enemies, store up the right treasures, judge not, fast/pray, etc.

When did he teach his disciples to sing? Did he organize the voices? was he the minister of music or director?

I can't recall the experience of singing but the text says, "when they had finished, they went out into the Mt. of Olives, singing a hymn.

Something will make you sing?

Singing is the sound of the soul so do you need a glorious voice?

With Jesus anywhere music is in the air

The singing was associated with what happened at the table

(indirectly) nothing was sung at the table; is it possible that it was associated?

An enemy was discovered among them

The enemy wasn't in unity with the others

The enemy disfigured the total setting at the table

Normally, singing is focused on the situation but it didn't happen until they went out

Was it brewing at the table

Jesus focused them on him at the table

(to keep them after the table scene was done- therefore they could sing about it)

All the conversation was about him- this do in remembrance of me

He shared his body (it was about him)

He shared his blood (it was about him)

Leaving him at the table but being with him outside was something to sing about)

The joy at the table prepared them for sing

What happened at the table was the platform for outside

How he didn't entertain the tragedy of one person

The fact that it didn't prohibit anything

What a joy it is to not be detoured at the table by non-essentials, etc

Leaving the table there was so much positive things to reflect upon

They went out into the Mt. of Olives, singing with Jesus, Oh, what a time to sing!

So say they sang: Psalm 113-118; Exodus from Egypt; division of the Red Sea; Promulgation of the law; Resurrection of the dead; Passion of the Messiah

In my culture of African American- I love the Lord, he heard my cry; Jesus keep me near the Cross; I know it was the Blood
