Summary: We study several that were spilled out before the Lord, and ponder how we should be spilled out before Jesus.

SPILLED OUT BEFORE THE LORD...

This is a two part lesson.

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

I would like us to ponder SPILLED OUT BEFORE THE LORD.

Definition:

Spill: --- to run out until no more, --- kill, destroy, --- cause to flow, --- waste,

--- to accidentally or unintentionally to fall from place.

--- to relieve a sail from the pressure of the wind

Object Lesson on Reactions.

Have a small glass of water setting in my hand? I fill the glass pouring from a little pitcher, I fill it to the brim with water.

Later accidentally I tap my arm and slightly shake it until some water splashes out.

When the water splashes out I say, "Oh no! I spilled some grape juice?"

Wait for a reaction.

Someone should say, "You spilled water, not grape juice."

You say, "Your exactly right, this is a whole lot like our reactions to what happens around us.

We might want to react with certain behaviors to the things that shakes our lives, but when our lives are shaken we can only spill out of our glass, whatever we have put in it."

TEXT:

11 Samuel 23:15 And David longed, and said, Oh, that one would give me a drink from the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate! 16. And the three mighty brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew the water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but POURED IT out unto the Lord.

17. And David said, Be it far from me, O. Lord, that I should do this: is not this the blood of men that went in JEOPARDY of their lives? therefore DAVID WOULD NOT DRINK IT. These things did these three mighty men!
