Summary: what makes a marriage work

What makes a marriage work, is it money, is it material thing's, or is it moments of pleasure? What makes a marriage work, (first, second, third), it's:

1. Putting Christ First.

What makes a marriage work, it's letting Jesus be Lord in your heart, home, and habits. In Matthew 6:33, Christ says, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Money, material things, and moment of pleasure are important, but without a Christ-centered marriage, it can fail at any time. What makes a marriage work, it's putting Christ first.

2. Being A Person of Faithfulness.

What makes a marriage work, it's being a person of faithfulness, when your going through the storms, sorrows, and any situation in life. YOU MUST BE FAITHFUL TO YOUR PARTNER EVERYDAY! This is why it says in Ephesians 5:31, "For this reason shall a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh." When you get married, it's time for both of your to leave your parents and establish your own home! What makes a marriage work, it's being a person of faithfulness to each other. What make a marriage work,, it's being faithfulness to each other.

3. Maintaining A Spirit of Forgiveness.

What makes a marriage work, it's maintaining a spirit of forgiveness toward each other, and working faults, failures, and misfortunes out by not letting them repeat themselves over and over again. Ephesians 4: 31&32 says, Let all bitterness, wrath, and anger, clamor and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be ye kind to one another, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." What makes a marriage work, it's maintaining a spirit of forgiveness toward each other.

Concl: What makes a marriage work, it's being a good COMPANION . . . putting Christ first. . . being a person of faithfulness. . . maintaining a spirit of forgiveness. Let's all stand and sing. . . and I want all the couples here today to come and stand before the altar for a word of prayer.
