What To Do When You've Been Knocked Flat on Your Backside

Psalm 61:1-4

Personal Testimony

TEXT

What to do?

I. Cry out to God

Cry out in the bad

Cry out in the good

Cry out when all hell is breaking loose

Cry out when you just can't go on

God already knows our situations. Friends He's waiting on you and I to surrender our problems to Him. His Word tells me that He can handle anything that comes His way!

Ephesians 3:20-21

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever, Amen.

God is able to met your need, regardless of where you are at, cry out to God on this day!

II. Ask for direction and guidance

Matthew 7:7-8

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Once again, do not hesitate to ask for God's help. Remember, He can and will meet you wherever you are at.

John 3:17-18

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Ask God to direct your steps!

Psalm 37:23-24

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in His way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

Illustration: Men and not wanting to get directions!

III. God will deliver you and place you upon the rock!

What is required for deliverance?

Humility to God in prayer

Honesty to God in prayer

Display of our faith in God through prayer

Things to remember:

Prayers are not often answered overnight. God's timing and ways are not like our timing and ways. He's God and we are not.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Trust in God's providence

Trust in God's timing

"When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,

What a glory He sheds on our way!

While we do His good will, He abides with us still,

And with all who will trust and obey/

Trust and Obey, for there's no other way

To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey."

Finally, Trust in God's Promise

Psalm 30:5

...Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy Comes in the Morning!

This is the promise we have from God,

Joy will Come in the Morning! So patiently endure the night, and wait for the Joy to Come!

Does it seem that you are at a dead end?

Does it seem that there is no hope!

Are issues seeming to snowball out of control?

Cry out to Jesus!

He already knows your situation.

Friends, how do you handle getting knocked down, but not out? You get up by following God!

Cry out to God

Ask for His direction

Be prepared for His deliverance
