Summary: Jesus wants us to look on him for every need.

Read I Samuel 7:1-13

The bible says faith without works is dead not only dead but also it is impossible to please God without faith. “Faith is the substance of things hope for the evidence of things not seen.” Samuel had the faith of God. (YOU KNOW GOD HOLY) Today, we have the faith of Jesus. Samuel has the faith of God. Samuel sends the word for Israel to place a stone on the battle field: he called it Ebenezer, the Stone of help and places it before them. Israel went into battle believing in the (Stone of Help) that it would move God against the Philistines like David did. They believe in the power of God. The stone has no power at all, but this was simply an act of faith in God. (YOU KNOW GOD HOLY) We must understand the stone, and that God has no respect of persons. He rains on the just as well as the unjust. The stone that David used to kill Goliath in return God used it to smite his own people Israel.

What you do for the LORD today will determine the fate of many tomorrow. Needless to say, just because you have works to the faith of Jesus Christ does not mean you’re going to have victory in the present situation that you’re in all the time. Consequently, Israel is smitten before the Philistines. I can imagine how disappointed they must have felt. Our ways are not God’s ways. God has his own way about doing things. (YOU KNOW GOD HOLY) Learning to accept what seems good to God whether it be good or bad is the beginning to understanding why God does what He does.

(YOU KNOW GOD HOLY) When I was younger, I praised God more than anybody in Church; and I didn’t care what anybody thought about me. I knew who was living in my heart; I had assurance. Even though I was losing so many battles, my heart remained filled with assurance during those difficult times in my life. (YOU KNOW GOD HOLY) People saw this assurance that I had and even criticized it. Throughout the years, I’ve had an opportunity to walk with Jesus, and to understand why people do what they do. I’ve learned both how to except what seems good to God and to be careful of murmuring and complaining. Being careful means having the fear of God in heart. (YOU KNOW GOD HOLY) When you find yourself murmuring and complaining, realize that you have fallen short of the glory of God. And after you feel guilty about it, you should repent, and move on to whatever level is next. Ask the LORD to forgive you of all your sins, and keep moving.

God wants us to look to Jesus the sucking Lamb. I tell you if you look to Jesus everything is going to be alright. God is going to give you the victory that you need to keep moving. God will never let you down.
