When The Word Of God Digs You Out

Summary: The Lord is trying to make fruit bearers out of all of us
The Tree = Man (Psalms 1 – “…like a tree planted by the waters…)
The Fruit = Just as we would expect fruit from our tree, God expects fruit from His!!
o Not only expects, but demands
o God as the husbandman has done His very best for the tree…
o Leaves and fruit both take energy from the tree…but only fruit adds back to the tree
o Many of us have leaves in our lives that are sapping our
strength so as to keep us barren.
o The leaves of sin, bad habits, worldliness, laziness, and unconcern are among a few.
o The unsaved have no fruit of repentance because of the leaves of sin.
The Lord is digging around many today, giving one more season for fruitfulness (Mercy)
o Around many lost souls
o Around many Christians
o Around many preachers
o Around many churches
1. Adam and Eve in the garden – “Where art thou”
2. Cain – “Where is Abel thy brother”
3. Jonah –“The word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time…”
4. Seven Churches of Asia – “Left first love”…”A name that thou livest and art dead”… “You are lukewarm”
Matt 10:28 – “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Fruit is not
o Preaching
o Shouting
o Praying
o Speaking in tongues
o Bible knowledge
o Church attendance
o Tithing
Fruit is that which God is expecting to come from you. Not what I think you should be doing. Galatians 5:22,23
DUNG AROUND THE TREE - There are things going on in peoples lives today that they don't understand. We make think it is "dung" but God has a purpose for it
