Summary: DON'T STAY DOWN WHEN YOU FALL

WHEN WE FALL

MAIN TEXT: PSALM 37:24

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

PHILIPPIANS 3:14

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

God does not shield us from the consequences of our actions just because we are His children. But for us, failure is not final because the Holy Spirit is constantly working in us to accomplish His purposes. He may let us fail or fall, but He urges us to view defeat as a stepping stone to maturity. God is working for our good in every situation, and we must act on that good in order to grow.

When we fall, we should analyze the problem and find out why, because each failure is one more step leading up to the “Cathedral of success”. The only time you don’t want to fail is the last time you try”. If our seeming failure or lack of success is traced to circumstance beyond our control, we ask God to teach us what He wants us to learn and trust Him to bring good out of failure/disappointment. Our failure then becomes a stepping stone to our great success.

We can turn failure to success by honestly facing the defeat/failure, never fake success. Exploit the failure, don’t waste it, learn all you can from it, every bitter experience can teach you something. Never use failure as an excuse for not trying again.

We may not be able to reclaim the loss, undo the damage or reverse the consequence, but we can make a new start with the experience behind us.

Apostle Paul in Phil. 3:14 admonished believers to forget the past and reach forward to the things which are ahead. Then we will be better able to “press towards the goal, for the price of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil 3:14).

DO NOT REMAIN WHERE YOU HAVE FALLEN. RISE UP!
