March 2, 2000 | "You could spend your whole life trying to change the world." The ponderous message looms above hordes of commuters descending into San Francisco’s Embarcadero station. As the escalator coasts towards the train platform below, an overhead banner hung from cement rafters continues the barrage: "No, seriously. You could."

By now, as the branded color scheme surrounds you, you have to wonder: How? The Answer scrolls into view in the form of a giant blue rectangle on the floor below. Would-be riders can barely avoid stepping on it to get inside the trains: "MICROSOFT. Where do you want to go today?"

We must have God’s perspective if we are to move forward beyond conversion in our Christian walk.

Without God’s perspective, people will struggle through life, living far out of the perfect will of God.

We Must Believe That God Has A Plan And A Destiny For Our Lives

Most people live life simply to get by.

No sense of purpose

Paying bills & new car is all the destiny they possess

The average Christian never fulfills the destiny of God because he knows nothing about it and therefore lives for lower goals and desires.

It is time to renew our minds and see what God’s plans and purposes are.

Great minds have purposes, others have wishes.

Ephesians [1:3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. [4] For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love [5] he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will - [6] to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

God’s plans for us been there before we were there.

Romans [8:29] For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

God does not fly by the seat of His pants!

He planned a fulfilling, rewarding, and satisfying life for you.

Live For The Cause

Our greatest mission in life is not to establish our own dreams and work until they come to pass; but our mission is to seek God, find His plan and purpose for our lives and then go for it with all that is within us.

Most people in the world today are unhappy going to work every day, because they don’t feel they are fulfilling any purpose or destiny.

Many try to do things they weren’t called to do, they simply emulate someone else. That is why the greatest employers today are realizing that having a job is not enough for their employees, but helping them realize their dreams is vital.

Whatever you do, whether it is teach, farm, raise children or build airplanes, God has a great plan for your life that will offer the maximum fulfillment you can experience on earth.

You are successful the moment you start moving toward a worthwhile goal.

Eight Steps to Discovering Your Destiny in the Lord

1. Think about the real desire of your heart, not what someone else wants you to do or the fleeting fantasies of your mind.

Psalm [37:3] Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. [4] Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

2. Determine what stirs your passion, drive and zeal.

John [2:17] His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me."

3. Know what gifts and talents flow naturally through you.

Romans [12:4] Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, [5] so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. [6] We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.

4. Seek counsel from mature Christian friends and leaders.

Proverbs [11:14] For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure.

[18:1] An unfriendly man pursues selfish ends; he defies all sound judgment.

5. Listen to the witness of the Holy Spirit in your spirit.
