Summary: A message of hope in order to bring in souls to the Kingdom.

INTRODUCTION

By the help of the Holy Spirit, just think with on the subject asking a very important question, “WHICH SIDE ARE YOU'RE ON?”

John wrote this book in order to grab the attention of those who are still living in darkness but yet has not embraced the Light of a loving Savior.

Instead, there are people who rather embrace darkness, take it in and waddle in it like a pig not getting up but just lying there without any care whatsoever. These are the ones who seem hopeless, but God there is hope for that man, woman, boy, and girl.

Here are things that will cause us to be on the wrong side or either the right side, you make the call...

II. Walk in the LIGHT

Listen now what John is saying to us even today:

God is LIGHT and has no DARKNESS. Jesus reminded us that “He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” John 8:12. The Matthew Commentary explains it better like this: Christ is the Light of the world. God is light, and Christ is the image of the invisible God. One sun enlightens the whole world; so does one Christ, and there needs no more. What a dark dungeon would the world be without the sun! So would it be without Jesus, by whom light came into the world? Those who follow Christ shall not walk in darkness. They shall not be left without the truths which are necessary to keep them from destroying error, and the directions in the way of duty, necessary to keep them from condemning sin.

III. Walk Away From THE DARK SIDE

John is telling us that So if we say we are his friends but go on living in spiritual darkness and sin, we are lying. Luke 16:13 tells us clearly:

“No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” King James Version (KJV)

To walk in darkness is to live and act according to such ignorance, error, and erroneous practice, as are contrary to the fundamental dictates of our holy religion. Now there may be those who may pretend to great attainments and enjoyments in religion; they may profess to have communion with God; and yet their lives may be irreligious, immoral, and impure.

IV. Get Washed Clean

Back in 1969, songwriter Edwin Hawkins arranged and recorded which is now one of the most popular modern gospel classics of all time, “Oh Happy Day”.The songwriter put down on paper these words:

Oh happy day (oh happy day)

Oh happy day (oh happy day)

When Jesus washed (when Jesus washed)

When Jesus washed (when Jesus washed)

When Jesus washed (when Jesus washed)

He washed my sins away (oh happy day)

Oh happy day (oh happy day)

Another writer of the book of Acts sat down through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost somewhere through the annuals of time, admonished us to, “Arise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling the name of the Lord”Acts 22:16.

It's the Blood of Jesus that will wash you clean and wash your sins away! Somebody give a shout of praise.

1 Peter 1:2 King James Version (KJV)

“Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace be multiplied”.Peter sent this letter to remind all of God's people that God planned long ago to choose you and to make you his holy people, which is the Spirit’s work. God wanted you to obey him and to be made clean by the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

3.

I pray that you will enjoy more and more of God’s grace and peace.

V. No Sin? Stop Lying To Yourself

If anyone comes up to you and say, I never sin, then they are lying to you and lying in God's face—WATCH THOSE TYPE OF PEOPLE!

James 4:17 “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” Again, WATCH OUT FOR THOSE PEOPLE!

VI. The Warning

John repeats the verse 10 but with a strong warning “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

Proverbs 28:13 “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”

CONCLUSION

Just ask yourself, where are you going to spend eternity? The Bible tells us to choose thee this day. Don't wait until you get it all together, DO IT NOW!

Which side are you are on today? Make up your mind before it's too late. AMEN.
