Summary: Responsibility is a trait that many Christians have not come to grips with. Let us see what God says about this subject.

Who’s Responsible?

Romans 14:11,12

11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Sometimes we fall into the same mentality as a teenager who can’t wait to grow up and move out of the house of mom and dad becuase he or she wants to enjoy freedom. In the days of the apostle Paul, some christians felt that grace was a license to sin, and things have not changed much today. The truth is, as we mature in Christ, we need to become more responsible. Let us look at some areas which we need to consider.

I. POSSESSIONS

The more you have, the more is required of you.

The Rich Young Ruler is an example. Matthew 19:22

The New Testament church. Acts 2:45

A. TIME--Eph. 5:16

Are you working for today or for eternity?

We all have 24/7/365. How are you using yours?

B. TALENTS

Matt. 25:1430 - Parable of the Talents

Each christian has at least one talent. Some have more. You will probably receive more if you are faithful with the one(s) you already have.

C. INFLUENCE

Everyone has this. Each day of your life you affect at least 7 others, for good or for bad.

D. Money

There are more scriptures that talk about money than discuss heaven or hell.

One could talk about tithes, but then, what about the other 90% of our income.

II. PRIVILEGES

A. CHOICE

work or sleep

eat or fast

obey or disobey

B. PRAISE AND WORSHIP

You can do it if you want, regardless of what is happening in your life.

C. PRAYER

It is not always convenient or easy.

D. POTENTIAL

You can develop what God has given you.

Daniel 11:32

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
