Who Is To Blame?

Summary: Who is to blame for the condition of our nation? Is it Hollywood, secular music, public schools or parents? We lost this nation when we lost the control of our children.
WHO IS TO BLAME?
Hag 2:3
3 Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
How do we view our relationship with Christ today in comparison to when we began? Our service to Him? How do we treat people?
How is my family’s relationship with Christ since I have come to know Him?
When fathers fail to be men of God, children go into bondage.
God tried to give us an object lesson by refusing to let the fathers go into the promised land, but the next generation, and the next generation, and the next generation failed to get it.
Conflict never left King David’s house because of his failure.
Eli’s sons were out of control because of his failure.
Haman lost ten sons because of his failure.
99% of Biblical examples, where children went haywire, the blame went to the parents.
A little over a hundred years ago there was hope of bringing righteousness back into the world. Great revivals were breaking out across the world and it was great for a while.
50’s Prayed in school.
Great revivals. Miracles. Morals. Safe (We kids would go downtown by ourselves)
Whose to blame?
June 25,1962 prayer was banned in public schools.
60’s rock n’ roll brought rebellion.
Our nation began to prosper. We began to loose our Christian fathers to materialism. Outings and sporting events replaced Sunday school.
Fathers refocused their attention and we began to loose the respect of our children. They became rebellious and were caught up in drugs and sex.
Whose to blame?
70’s church Fathers drifted into marital unfaithfulness and drunkenness.
Abortion were legalized in 1973.
A passion for Christ became nothing more than religious practices.
Sinners became our enemies.
Let’s look a moment at Christ’s method of reaching the sinner.
After all, He was called the friend of sinners. He ate with them, healed them, and then preached the gospel to them.
10 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
1. Connect with them
2. Pray for them.
3. Share the Gospel with them.
Whose to blame?
80’s Strange fire swept through our churches.
We were spiritual without faithfulness, commitment, and disciplines. The strange fire was not able to sustain life, so many moved on to the next trend.
Less and less men were being seen in church.
Whose to blame?
90’s We began to realize that we’ve lost most of our men, so we started focussing on kids ministries thinking that it would bring the parents in. It hasn’t worked. Kids come and kids go but still the parents are no where to be found.
Isa 3:12
12 As for my people, children are their oppressors,
We sit and talk about the nation’s condition, how bad it is and offer all kinds of solutions, but the truth is, we lost our nation when we lost our kids.
When I say, “lost our kids,” I mean when we failed to lead them to Jesus and ensure that they had a relationship with Christ.
How dare we bring souls into this world go to Hell. And they will if we don’t do everything we can to lead them to Jesus.
We are in a post Christian nation now, so I guess it is also a pre- Christian nation and that only depends how we raise our children today.
Come, I think that w have something to pray about.
